Zariela has arguably the strongest form but a wide draw could prove an inconvenience. Instead, a chance is taken with PUELLA LAW who finished well once the penny dropped on her debut at Beverley and is open to plenty of improvement. Asteverdi is hard to pin down after a runaway success last time and may pose the main threat.
16:55 – Machiavellian Lady
A 7lb penalty could leave course winner Unico vulnerable, for all the seventh furlong should suit. Sovereign Queen and Qatar Moon have both shown promise, the latter still to show her hand when a stumble brought her to a standstill at Windsor last month, but MACHIAVELLIAN LADY shaped nicely in desperate conditions on her debut and can leave that effort behind her today.
17:30 – Full Regalia
Crowning has her quirks and is trying her second type of headgear in just her fourth start. She sets the standard but there are risks involved. Resonance will find this easier than the Newmarket events she has been tackling but FULL REGALIA ran well on her stable debut in August and might prove the answer.
18:00 – Thomas Equinas (NAP)
Blue Flame, Hezahunk, Rhythmic Acclaim and Doves Of Peace all have something to recommend them but this may rest between course regulars Monaadhil and THOMAS EQUINAS (nap). The selection failed to fire at Southwell last time but he had proven too strong for Monaadhil twice here in August and the return to Chelmsford can see him resume his progress.

18:30 – Corporate Raider
Nonsuch Lad (second choice) can go well back down in class, while Lost In Time and Hildegard can have a case argued on this season’s best. Wilkie needs a market check dropping into a Class 6 but there doesn’t look to be too much pace on show here and CORPORATE RAIDER might be worth chancing off a winning mark.
19:00 – Rosa Chinensis
It’s possible to make a case for quite a few of these. Last-time-out winners Valkyrian and Lethal Touch command plenty of respect, while Mountain Flower could be unexposed on her handicap debut and Midsummer Dance has each-way hopes. Measured Moments is second choice with Morgan Cole claiming a handy 5lb but top of the list is ROSA CHINENSIS, a well-bred and lightly raced 3yo from an in-form yard.
19:30 – Selinas Star
Ben Dikduk hinted at a possible revival five weeks ago and he’s a possible, while Agostino, Phoenix Glow and Starjik also have something to recommend them. SELINA’S STAR ran well for second here in new blinkers three weeks ago, however, and she gets the tentative vote.
20:00 – Spit Spot
The filly SPIT SPOT was not seen to best effective in an amateurs’ handicap over C&D a fortnight ago but she has a good record here otherwise and is taken to bounce back with a win. Lunar Shadow has enjoyed a consistent campaign on the Flat and is second choice ahead of Haven Lady, who could be suited by the return to AW.
20:30 – Socially Shady
Team Endeavour was a good second behind a resurgent rival at Lingfield last time and he should give it another good shot. Tradesman is a big player if he can recapture the form of his easy win here on his penultimate run, while the generally consistent Trusty Scout also enters the reckoning. However, it might be worth taking a chance with SOCIALLY SHADY, who is back on the same mark as for his 2m win on Polytrack last autumn and looks interesting on this big step back up in trip.
