WOOBAY ran her usual sound race at Hamilton last week, finishing second for the fourth time this year. She lines up today from an unchanged mark and is reunited with amateur rider Pippa Brown in her bid for a deserved success. The pair went close together at Ayr back in July and could be worth siding with to go one place better in a wide-open contest.
14:50 – Lottings Lass
LOTTING’S LASS left his previous form well behind to get off the mark at Southwell last week, looking well on top at the finish after quickening to lead a furlong out. This will be a quicker-than-ideal turnaround, but a 6 lb penalty is unlikely to prove beyond her judged on the manner of that win and she could be the type to kick on now that she’s got her head in front.
15:20 – Ribble Radiant
RIBBLE RADIANT has been off the track since making a winning debut at Beverley in June, but there was plenty to like about that performance as she stayed on strongly to lead near the finish. The form has worked out well enough in her absence since and she’s entitled to progress. This looks just an ordinary novice event and Ribble Radiant should be capable of defying a penalty to maintain her unbeaten record if ready to go on her return.
15:50 – Ice Max
ICE MAX was last seen finishing down the field in a listed contest at Doncaster, but he remains one to be positive about now back in calmer waters. He’d looked a useful prospect when getting off the mark on his previous start over this course and distance and the strength of that form suggests he could be well treated on a BHA mark of 80 for today’s nursery debut.

16:20 – Yasmin from York
YASMIN FROM YORK hasn’t had much racing this year and could be ready to strike following a close-up third at Pontefract a couple of weeks ago. She is down markedly in grade today and can line up from the same mark as when gaining the second of her two course-and-distance wins in May last year. The booking of Hollie Doyle also catches the eye at a track where she has a 28 per cent strike rate since the start of the 2018 season.
16:50 – Garufillina
GARIFULLINA shaped well after four months off when finishing sixth at Redcar last time, still looking rough around the edges but putting in some strong late work. 2 lb lower in the weights today, she’ll benefit from the return to six furlongs and could be another winner on the card for Hollie Doyle, with further progress likely considering she’s only had five starts.
17:20 – Valley of Flowers
VALLEY OF FLOWERS is a model of consistency and her latest victory at Ayr was a career best, aided by a better start than usual and also going less freely. This will be tougher following a 5 lb rise in the weights, but she’s clearly in the form of her life and another bold bid seems assured back at Catterick, a track where she is yet to finish out of the first three in five previous starts.
