Bath 14:02 – Asense
1.5 points each way
Asense is one of only three course winners in this race and he comes here in fine form, winning his last two starts. The first of them was a classified event over today’s trip and then at this track in a handicap. He’s only gone up a pound in the weights and he should go close again remaining in this grade.
Hamilton 14:40 – The Gay Blade
1.5 points each way
The Gay Blade was a winner at Musselburgh back in August and is a previous course and distance winner, who finished third over this trip last time out. He should be there or thereabouts and looks a winner in waiting.
Bath 15:02 – Eton College
1.5 points each way
Eton College is just one pound higher in the weights than when scoring last time with Saffie Osborne, who retains the ride. He’s suited by one mile on the soft ground on a galloping track so he can go well for the Jamie Osborne stable, which had three winners last week.
Bath 15:32 – Eye Of The Water
1.5 points each way
Eye Of The Water has a good consistent record of late winning over course and distance, as well as placing twice in the last six races. Last time out was a disappointing fifth of eight but he may have been fatigued after a number of races in a short time. He has had a month off and may be all the fresher for it.
Bath 16:32 – Umming N Ahing
1.5 points each way
Umming N Ahing is a progressive three-year-old who will absolutely relish the ground and the trip. He has a good strike rate already with three wins from 11 starts and has Gina Mangan claiming a valuable 3lbs. He has a good draw and there’s plenty of juice in the price.
Hamilton 17:10 – High Opinion
1.5 points each way
High Opinion has been running well without winning. He’s down a couple of pounds from last time with a useful claimer in Andrew Breslin booked to ride. He should be fine with the ground and distance so he holds strong claims of being involved again.
Newcastle 17:30 – Apollos Angel
1.5 points each way
Apollos Angel is lightly raced but with some decent form in higher grade handicaps. She represents the Kevin Philippart de Foy stable with a solid record at this track and she makes plenty of each-way appeal dropping in grade with Daniel Muscutt on board.
Bath 17:38 – Miss Dolly Rocker
1.5 points each way
Miss Dolly Rocker finished second in a decent Class 3 when last seen and the form of that has been working out well with the winner going on to finish second in a Class 2 and the third home winning twice since. He gets in on an unchanged mark and he’s dropping in grade.
