13:50 – Queen For You

ITV go racing at Newmarket on Friday starting with this Listed event for fillies and mares over 1m. Not much between these on paper and I think the market is wrong over the John & Thady Gosden pair Coppice and QUEEN FOR YOU. Dettori would not have had the choice as Normandie Stud favour Robert Havlin yet the bookies seem to think Dettori has picked Coppice over her stable companion. Queen For You has been in good form all season, and ran a fine second at Sandown last time to Heredia. She stays well and conditions look ideal. Sure to run a huge one.

14:25 – Time Lock (Each-Way)

Up in class here for a Group 3 for fillies and mares over 1m4f. Running Lion steps up in distance and if that suits she will be hard to beat. The one I like each-way is TIME LOCK for Ryan Moore and the Harry & Roger Charlton team. The daughter of Frankel came good last time in Craon after disappointing a little prior to that this term. She stays well and the ground is perfect. Hard to kick out the frame at the very least.

15:00 – Ylang Ylang

This is the Group 2 Rockfel for juvenile fillies over 7f. I have to give YLANG YLANG another chance after flopping badly in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes in Ireland last time. There seemed no reason at all for the terrible effort but she had looked good prior to that when landing the Silver Flash at Leopardstown and this might be where she shows the Moyglare run was not a true reflection of her ability. Ryan Moore rides for Aidan O’Brien.

15:35 – Mutasaabeq

The feature of the day in the Group 2 Joel Stakes over 1m. Maljoom is a fascinating runner here but will surely need the run. If he’s ready I reckon he will win as he could easily by a Group 1 horse. In a small field I’m hoping MUTASAABEQ gets an easy lead and makes all for Jim Crowley and Charlie Hills. The selection started off this term doing just that to land a decent event at this track in May and he wasn’t disgraced when fifth in the Lockinge. The Queen Anne and City of York were just too tough for him.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
