AABLAN was certainly winning out of turn when successful at Sandown last time and did well considering he still appeared to be very green throughout the race and was clearly learning on the job.
He will have to step up to beat the likes of Capulet, but there is every reason to expect him to improve significantly, and he doesn’t have much to find on the figures.
14:05 Chester – Zealandia
We know plenty about most of these old handicappers and a few of them have even tried this marathon distance previously. That is an unknown with ZEALANDIA but his pedigree and the way he races suggest that an extreme test is exactly what he needs.
He’s only been nudged up 4lbs for the victory last time, and that underestimates him.
14:25 Newmarket – Persian Dreamer (each-way)
PERSIAN DREAMER has always been the apple of her trainer’s eye and possibly found the quick conditions against her in the middle part of the season. She was a comfortable victor up at a decent level last time on the July course at HQ and now dips her toe into Group 1 company. She was always going to get better as the season progressed.
As from the physical point of view she is only just starting to grow and strengthen into that massive frame.
14:40 Haydock – Manila Scouce
MANILA SCOUCE returns to a course and distance that possibly saw his most explosive performance this season and he backed that up with a ready victory at Chepstow. Subsequently he did go missing for a couple of starts, but bounced right back to form with an excellent show at York and doesn’t look badly treated of 87.

15:00 Newmarket – Vandeek
VANDEEK is bidding to confirm the form with River Tiber and should do, granted quicker conditions, which, judging by the way he moves over the ground should see him improve even further.
If there was one to get a slice of the action at a huge price, it has to be Elite Status who can out-run his odds at big each-way odds.
15:40 Newmarket – Aknu Najla (each-way) & Major Partnership (each-way)
In a field like this where they are normally guaranteed to split into two groups, we need one on either side of the track. Of those drawn in the low numbers. AKNU NAJLA has blinkers on as he has clearly been keeping something back for himself and it was a slightly eye-catching run at Ascot previously suggesting this trip is ideal.
MAJOR PARTNERSHIP was also in that race at Ascot but ran an absolute stinker last time so he’s on a bit of a recovery mission. He could also easily find a pinch of improvement stepping up to nine furlongs for the first time.
