If you can ignore his effort in the Silver Cup, his record over course and distance reads 1/2/2/1/3. He has since won twice after his win at Ayr which was his last start over today’s course and distance and he is only 4 lbs higher than that win. He was on for a hat-trick last time out at Chester but was bumped at the start and drawn wide so his run can be excused. ABERAMA GOLD should go well back at a course and distance he enjoys with Danny Tudhope aboard.

16:20 – Ayr – One Last Hug

1.5 points each-way

ONE LAST HUG for trainer Jim Goldie and jockey Joe Fanning has already won here three times and the softer ground will be another positive. Fanning was on board on two out of three of those runs including at this distance once before with a step up in trip this time round looking likely to suit his running style. He looks well handicapped with a great course record.

16:55 – Ayr – My Roxanne

1.5 points each-way

MY ROXANNE looks a progressive type who’s won two of her last four races and was placed on the other two starts. Both wins were on the all weather but a good third on turf at Doncaster in a race that looks like it’s working out nicely for this level. She’s an unexposed three-year-old who is open to plenty of improvement. Connections will fancy she is better than her rivals in this 0-60 handicap.
