13:37 – Brave Empire

Given the superiority the front two had at Windsor, BRAVE EMPIRE is taken to defy a penalty and successfully follow up. Indivar looks likely to be his most serious challenger, after a good debut effort. It would be no surprise to see Destiny Maker, one of two newcomers in this for Karl Burke, show up well first time.

14:12 – Marbuzet

Tim Easterby took this event 12 months ago and can repeat the feat with MARBUZET (NAP) who signalled he was ready to strike again when a staying-on third at Leicester last time. Handicap debutant Wheres The Crumpet remains with few miles on the clock and is feared most, although in-form pair Tiger Spirit and Paddy’s Fancy need factoring in too.

 

14:47 – Jazz Samba

This is not so competitive as the numbers suggest and JAZZ SAMBA can build on her good running-on Wetherby 7f second to resume winning ways now she steps back up in trip. Hidden Code and Streetscape need considering too as they bid for a breakthrough success.

15:22 – Azano

Redcar has been the venue for AZANO‘s last two wins and he gets the nod on the back of last week’s good Listed third at York. The progressive filly Alethiometer is second choice, while Hickory remains very lightly raced and is a possible improver.

16:02 – Squealer

Match Play won well at Haydock recently but he did have the benefit of the rail and this is a stronger race. Russet Gold shouldn’t be judged on his reappearance effort and he still has potential, while there were more encouraging signs from Star Of Lady M at Beverley when the cheekpieces were added. Nigel Tinkler may hold the key here though and SQUEALER, who looks nicely treated on his 2yo form and looked on the way back at Windsor, is preferred to Lakota Blue.

16:38 – Rooska

None of the quintet can be ruled out but ROOSKA has gone with some promise when placed on both his starts and can progress further to get off the mark. Oneforsue has experience on her side and the form to play a part too so rates the chief threat ahead of Daley T.

17:13 – Spirit In My Soul

A tricky race. Glendown looks a player after his latest effort. Shine’s Ambition and Aurora Glory can have each-way cases made and Senate Queen may be capable of getting competitive now entering handicaps. However, a change of stables, the fitting of headgear and a reducing mark hint that SPIRIT IN MY SOUL might be capable of getting her nose in front.
