Beverley 14:10 – Snow Berry
1.5 points each-way
Snow Berry has a decent record on turf having raced 10 times and winning three of those, with the last winning mark coming 2lbs higher than today. She finished a very close second last season 4lbs higher than her current mark, so she looks weighted to go close. Her best form seems to have come on good to firm ground and she got a decent run out last time out on the all-weather track after 100 days off. The whole field finished close up that day so I wouldn’t be too concerned with the overall finishing position. She wasn’t knocked about in that race and it was clear she was in need of the run.
Hamilton 14:20 – Soul Seeker
1.5 points each-way
Soul Seeker has won five races over this trip and won three times from his eight runs in this grade, so he looks well suited to the test. He’s won four of his 13 runs on today’s going and has a record of two wins from three starts at the track, so statistically he looks to have a good chance. He drops in grade and is now 1lb below his last winning mark. His two runs this year have not been anything to shout about but on conditions that probably weren’t suited and up in grade, he did well. He’s tended to need the runs and now with two under his belt, he should be ready to go.
Beverley 16:10 – Captain Corelli
1.5 points each-way
Captain Corelli is a course and distance winner who needed the run last time out at Beverley when the ground was far too soft. He loves the quicker surface which he gets today and he was a winner on his second start last season. He’s 2lbs above his last winning mark, which was over the course and distance and on fast ground. He looks to have a nice draw to get a position and he still remains pretty lightly raced, especially on turf, where his record is very consistent.
Beverley 17:12 – Jamih
1.5 points each-way
Jamih knocked in victories over this trip at Catterick and Thirsk last summer and finished a close runner-up at the same venues in between so he’s been fairly consistent. He put in a good effort when a close up 5th on his seasonal reappearance two weeks ago and he will come on for that run. He’s now just 2lbs higher than his last winning mark.
