Horse Racing tips: An 11/1 pick tops the list under lights tonight

17:30 – Haven Lady

Last-time out winner Habanero Star comes into this in form, but she still needs to prove her stamina for this trip and the safest option looks to be HAVEN LADY who has won over C&D and found only a well-handicapped rival just too strong at Wolverhampton a week ago. The third horse there, Hashtagmetoo, shouldn’t be far away again while the return to this venue could see Defence Treaty bounce back to form.

18:00 – Zoology

A market check is advised as regards the newcomers, especially Covey and Themainprotagonist, but English/Irish 2000 Guineas-entry ZOOLOGY sets a useful standard. He was most impressive when making a winning debut last year and will find this somewhat easier than when last seen contesting the Middle Park. Kodiman may give him most to do if bouncing back from his Newcastle flop, having previously run so well on his debut over C&D.

18:30 – Lady Nagin

There could be improvement to come from Dear Daphne and Twilight Dancer on their respective handicap debuts, with both already having shown ability. However, the vote goes to LADY NAGIN who did it in good style when winning over C&D in January (form worked out well) and will have a solid chance if the first-time hood helps her rediscover her best. Shine Honey Shine looks the pick of the rest.[

19:00 – Too Much

There is no doubt that Sid’s Annie likes it here, but she is up against several unexposed and progressive 3yos. Double March, Young And Fun and Chealamy all make some appeal, but TOO MUCH did it well when making a successful handicap debut over C&D last month and may be up to defying a 5lb rise.

    19:30 – How Bizarre

    Despite a losing run of 38 this can be the day HOW BIZARRE finally ends the drought. He is 5lb better off with Cavalluccio for a nose defeat over C&D on Friday and it looks as though he will again enjoy the run of the race in front. Tom Tulliver needs to find a bit more but can’t be completely dismissed in his current mood, while Masham Moor is another to consider having run consistently well in defeat lately.

    20:00 – Urban Dandy (NAP)

    This looks a good opportunity for URBAN DANDY (NAP) to make it 3-4 since switching to the AW, having had two of these behind when successful at Newcastle last time. Exceed, who finished fourth in that race having been hampered at the start, ought to get closer with a smoother trip and a 5lb pull. Front-runner Doctor Mozart looks best of the others.

    20:30 – Northbound

    Rumnotred is unexposed and is better drawn than for his two previous handicaps, while One More Dream is likely to put up another good show. NORTHBOUND has more to give on Tapeta, though, and his Thirsk reappearance last year suggested he may well be ready to go today. Perfect Swiss needs to get the start right but he would be a big danger if he can and is second choice.
