Horse Racing Tips: 4/1 play leads today’s best bets at Kempton

The boffins fancy The Green Man at 18:00.

Friday’s Kempton Tips

18:00 – THE GREEN MAN
18:30 – MCLEAN HOUSE
19:00 – OLYMPIC QUEST
19:30 – IN THE GIVING
20:00 – MR INSPIRATION (nap)
20:30 – MAGICINTHEMAKING

18:00 – THE GREEN MAN

Satin Snake’s three course wins this winter have come under aggressive rides over 7f and the drop to sprinting is the concern with him, as it is with Gobi Sunset. The consistent Jupiter Express and Mellys Flyer, whose only defeat in three runs over C&D came when favourite for this race last year, make the shortlist, but there’s a good spread of pace in here and it might just be set up for THE GREEN MAN.

18:30 – MCLEAN HOUSE

There should be more to come from MCLEAN HOUSE, who is taken to follow up last month’s C&D success. Giant, a similar type who scored at Chelmsford when last seen, is feared most. Nuthatch is the only other previous winner in the field but she’s less appealing than the two aforementioned colts.

19:00 – OLYMPIC QUEST

A trappy handicap, in which none of the eight can be ruled out, can go to OLYMPIC QUEST, who had Double Down behind over C&D a month ago. Coloane, who has stamina in her pedigree, is another to consider now upped in trip.

19:30 – IN THE GIVING

Ex-Irish IN THE GIVING looks open to further improvement this year, having joined William Haggas, and will be all the more interesting if the market speaks in her favour. Miss Moonshine, Selina’s Star and Phoenix Glow are, in that order of preference, solid-looking contenders on their recent form.

20:00 – MR INSPIRATION (nap)

Teumessias Fox and Dubai Leader are both relatively lightly raced and could yet be capable of better, each returning from a break having been gelded, while this mark should be within range for Haku if he settles better. However, the return to 1m4f looks ideal for MR INSPIRATION (nap), who gave plenty of weight to an interesting debutante at Newcastle last time, and he gets the nod on his handicap debut.

20:30 – MAGICINTHEMAKING

Dreams Delivered has strong claims if reproducing the form of his Southwell win last month and he did meet some trouble in running at Lingfield last week when a beaten odds-on favourite. He didn’t impress with his head carriage there, though, and he’s taken on with MAGICINTHEMAKING, who loves it around here and won cosily in a stronger grade over C&D in January. Eastern Star and Swiss Rowe look best of the rest.
