Joseph O’Brien has a couple of interesting ones and Hypernova could be a pace angle. Jawwaal was very disappointing last time out and I’m not sold so I’m going with Tai Sing Yeh for James McAuley. He ran an impressive second last week and he’s got solid form. The trip up to 6f will suit him much better and he’s dropping in grade.
Almendares has decent form and he finished second at Dundalk last month. He sets the standard but I like Heartrate for Kieran Cotter and Declan McDonogh. His form from his second at Cork in September has held up. He’s got a good draw too.
This is often a very good race. Dancing Tango seems the most open to improvement, however, she does hang left. John Gleeson will be well aware of that though. She’s stepping up in distance and she’s the most likely winner.
I’m watching Diamond Union with interest but I’m on Wild Shot for John McConnell, who will likely be an each-way selection. He was sixth at Dundalk in February and it’s his third start here after a break so he could go well in an open race that should suit his style of running.
Joseph O’Brien’s Best Guess is very interesting based on breeding and you should follow him if the money arrives. By a process of elimination, I’m with Segomo. If he gets a good run in the home straight, he can get the job done.
Cairo will be odds on and he sets a really good standard. He won a good maiden in August but he followed that up with a defeat at Dundalk in September. He won over 7f at Leopardstown in October and this is his first run since. Cairo likely wins and if I had to pick one to finish second, it’d be Stormy Entry.
I like Might And Mercy for Noel Meade. You can forgive her last run at Dundalk over 7f as she was a bit burnt out. She had a win at Cork and an impressive second at Dundalk before that. She hasn’t ran since November and she goes well fresh.
Knockmore Prince has a bit more to come after an impressive second at Dundalk in February. That will have him set to win here ahead of Bright Dick, who is probably the biggest threat.
