John & Thady Gosden’s well-bred filly Roadway is open to significant improvement this year, while Goldkit lost out only by a short head on her debut and has a big role to play here if she settles better than on her second start. However, Charlie Appleby’s newcomer SITHCHEAN has a interesting pedigree and might be the answer.

It’s reasonable to expect another big run from Chola Empire, while Double Time will be dangerous if able to resume his autumn improvement but LETMELIVEMYLIFE travelled well for a long way on last month’s stable debut and gets the nod in the hope that the outing has brought him on.

Despite a 5lb penalty for her successful stable debut last time Wooders Dream is still a major player, as is the veteran Shamshon if he can build on his latest Kempton effort over this trip. January’s C&D winner Sirius White is another for the shortlist, as is his nearest victim that day Hachert, but this can go to THOMAS EQUINAS who has shown ability in better company and drops to this level for the first time.
19:00 Hello Zabeel
This looks a hot race for a 0-75 with most of the runners coming here in very good order. Shades Of Summer, Muscika (second choice) and Jupiter Express all have something to recommend them but HELLO ZABEEL threatened to be useful earlier in his career and his new trainer appears to have found the key to him. He won a shade cosily at Lingfield last month, in a good time, and can defy the handicapper to complete his hat-trick.

19:30 Pride Of America (NAP)
Despite being the only one of the quintet without winning form over C&D the vote goes to PRIDE OF AMERICA (nap), who looked smart when making a successful return from wind surgery at Kempton in January. He can confirm the form with the runner-up Capital Theory and the main danger may come from Greatgadian, who is 2-2 over C&D and just 1lb higher than for the latest of those wins.
20:00 Jenson Benson
He’s up to a new career-high mark but course regular JENSON BENSON kept on strongly to win over C&D three weeks ago and could still have a bit more to offer over this trip. Mc’Ted has fitness to prove after a three-month break but was placed off slightly higher marks over C&D on consecutive outings in late 2022 and is feared most. The Bay Warrior scores good marks for consistency and is next on the list.
20:30 Outrace
A trappy little race despite the small field. OUTRACE is the most exposed of the quartet, but at least he knows how to win and appears to hold a sound chance, especially if allowed his own way in front. The main threat may come from Imaginary World whose pedigree suggests he should appreciate the step up in trip on handicap debut.
