There should still be quite a lot more to come from both Wideeyedandlegless and Hardy Fella (preferred in that order) but the most obvious answer is dual hurdle winner OUTLAW PETER, who has a 12lb penalty to shoulder but sets a useful form standard and will be well suited by today’s conditions.
14:40 Toothless
With a valid excuse for last month’s disappointing run at Musselburgh, TOOTHLESS has an excellent opportunity to add to January’s wide-margin Fakenham win. Hurdling debutant Marley Head displayed some improvement when upped to 1m2f on the Flat last time and is second choice, ahead Sisterandbrother.
15:10 Doyannie
She’ll have a big weight to carry if she makes a quick reappearance here but DOYANNIE was firmly in command in the closing stages at Plumpton on Monday and will be hard to beat if in similar form. Dindin has very high mileage but his recent efforts suggest he’ll be on the premises. Broadoak displayed some improvement over 2m on his latest outing and may benefit from today’s move back up in trip.
15:45 Any News
Cap Du Mathan could be hard to pass if he seizes the early lead and gets into a good jumping rhythm but he may not have things all his own way today and an interesting alternative is ANY NEWS, who posted a good effort at Kempton last month and remains very well handicapped on older form. The Widdow Maker has also slipped to a good mark and is another to consider.

16:15 Hititi
Robert Walford’s HITITI posted a good effort over C&D just 11 days ago, failing by half a length, and he can go one better today. Handicap debutants Sandalwood and Mikhailovich are possible improvers.
16:45 Ivetwiggedit
Sawpit Sienna (second choice) comes here in good form and handcap debutante Konigin Isabella has plenty of scope for improvement but there is no strong temptation to oppose hat-trick-seeker IVETWIGGEDIT, who comfortably drew a long way clear on the run-in at Newcastle two weeks ago and could still be well handicapped after a 17lb rise.
17:20 Magic Saint (NAP)
Paul Nicholls’ 9yo MAGIC SAINT (nap) hasn’t won for a while but he’s still a useful performer and he ran a good race in defeat on last month’s hunter chase debut at Hereford. He gets the nod. Exit Poll came to grief in that Hereford race and it’s harder to gauge how much ability he retains, but he was still good enough to take second in a good-quality Irish handicap last summer. Envoye Special and Diligent can also go well.
