Richard Hannon’s well-bred newcomers Silencer and Lulworth Cove need a close look in the market, while Papabella showed clear promise over C&D last month and she’s open to progress on her second start. However, it is hard to get away from SUNNY ORANGE, who justified strong support on his debut at Leicester last month and sets a useful standard under a penalty for that comfortable success.

18:10 – Regal Envoy
Plenty have possibilities but the vote goes to Clive Cox’s unexposed colt REGAL ENVOY, who was a good front-running second from a wide draw in a 6f handicap here last time and catches the eye with the drop to this trip. Recent Newcastle winner Astral Beat is feared most, though Dusky Prince is on a dangerous mark and didn’t get any luck when favourite at Redcar last time. Others who could have a big part to play are Devon Envoy and Miss Anaco.
18:45 – The Cola Kid
Top of the list is triple turf winner THE COLA KID (nap), who went very close back in this sphere at Leicester on Monday and has strong claims if he can repeat that form off the same mark. Second choice is Strike, who was a good fourth in a big field at Ascot last time and still has potential after only seven starts. The other one on the shortlist is the admirable 13yo Pettochside, who has finished placed in all of his three runs this season and should give it another good shot back up in trip.
19:15 – Rich Rhythm
An open race in which it might be worth siding with the well-bred newcomer RICH RHYTHM, who has plenty of speed in his pedigree and represents a yard that had a 33% record with 3yos here last season. Thakrah returns for a new trainer but she sets the standard on her best 2yo form and is respected on this drop to 6f. Zainalarab raced freely here on his recent debut and could leave that form behind on his switch to sprinting, while others who could be in the mix are Wiseacre and Musical Mystery.

19:45 – Haarar
Rampoldi Plan went very close over 1m2f at Nottingham three weeks ago and he’s strongly respected but preference is for another progressive gelding in HAARAR, who justified favouritism with a brave win on his recent handicap debut at Windsor. Guilin was runner-up in a classified event last time and he looks interesting at this new trip, while others who could be dangerous are Greatness Awaits and Luckyboylovelywife.
20:15 – Songo
Byron Hill should win races for his new yard, Orin Swift (second choice) seems in the zone and Duke Of Verona could be an improver over this longer trip. However, SONGO ran another good race when never really in a challenging position last week at Haydock and he appeals most of all.

20:45 – Eight Of Diamonds
An interesting race in which the vote goes to EIGHT OF DIAMONDS, who got off the mark over 1m4f on AW last month and didn’t get much luck when a close second in his bid for a double at Bath 17 days ago. Recent Windsor runner-up Buxted Reel is feared most, though are some handicap newcomers who need a close look in the market including Stormbreaker and Ham And Jam. Another to consider is The Residencies, who is open to more progress on his step up to this trip.
