17:25 – Betweenthesticks
Little Edi shaped with a degree of promise when second at Redcar on his debut but Mick Channon had the winner Legend Of Xanadu that day and his BETWEENTHESTICKS is preferred this time. He turned in his best effort when upped to this trip at Windsor last week and a reproduction of that should be enough to see him go close at the least. We’renotreallyhere, from a yard among the winners with its juveniles, is a newcomer to note.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
17:55 – Copper Mountain
Not many of these are solid betting propositions so it’s worth giving another chance to COPPER MOUNTAIN, who has won three of her last seven starts. She wasn’t seen to best effect over 1m2f in a 0-75 last time but the drop in trip in this lesser event should suit. She’s taken to beat Cianciana and Mr Freedom.
18:25 – Harrogate
An open event but a good gallop looks on the cards and it’s worth chancing HARROGATE, who admittedly isn’t the most reliable but is suited by Ripon (he won two of his three starts over C&D last year) and is on a good mark. He’s taken to score from High Security, who can confirm latest C&D placings with Young Tiger.
18:55 – Tamarama
The consistent TAMARAMA has solid claims and is taken to follow up her Beverley maiden win. Second choice is Scotch Mistress, who may have more to offer back at handicap level. None of the other fillies can be comfortably ruled out.

19:25 – Captain Kane (NAP)
The improving CAPTAIN KANE (nap) could well complete a quickfire hat-trick and enhance his good strike-rate in handicaps. With a double penalty incurred he’s helped by the 5lb claim of promising apprentice Benoit De La Sayette, who comes here for this one ride. Fellow Newmarket raiders Punda Maria and At Liberty are feared most, in that order.
20:00 – Persist
With the William Haggas stable in such tremendous form the one who makes the most appeal is PERSIST, who hasn’t run since September but showed enough last year to suggest she has leading claims today upped in trip from a good draw. Banned, who showed improved form on her reappearance in a race that has been franked, looks the main danger. Cookies And Creme, Shibori and Hamaamm are the others to consider.

20:30 – Gullane One
The five to race on the far side were favoured in a 14-runner handicap over C&D at the last meeting here but there’s not much that appeals among the low-drawn numbers this time. The suggestion is GULLANE ONE, who should be spot on after two races this season and will be suited by the return to this trip. He could be well drawn for one who can make the running and he’s taken to beat Stronsay (drawn 14) and Round The Island (stall 9).
