13:25 – Central City
CENTRAL CITY took advantage of his falling mark with a comfortable success at Lingfield two weeks ago, asserting quickly in the final furlong to land the spoils by a length and three quarters. This will be tougher following a 4 lb rise in the weights, but he remains potentially well treated judged on the pick of his form. After all, he lines up here from a BHA mark of 58 having won off 74 as recently as February 2021.
14:00 – Changing Colours
CHANGING COLOURS is one of five newcomers in the line-up for this novice and he stands out on pedigree. Not only is he by Dubawi, but his dam is a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Danceteria and his grandam is a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winner Lope de Vega. In what is likely to prove an informative heat, Changing Colours could be worth siding with to make a winning debut for Charlie Appleby, who has a 30% strike rate with juveniles at Yarmouth in the last five years.

14:35 – Al Qaasim
AL QAASIM has been a model of consistency this year, winning three times and producing an even better effort in defeat when beaten only narrowly into third at Beverley last time. That appeals as strong form and there was more than enough in that display to suggest Al Qaasim could still be well treated from a BHA mark of 68. He is fancied to go in again to bring up his fourth win of 2022.
15:10 – Tazaman
TAZAMAN wasn’t seen to best effect when last seen finishing fourth at Wolverhampton in October, just lacking the pace to get seriously involved in a steadily-run contest. He was still beaten only two and a quarter lengths and the way he shaped there suggests he can still be competitive from a BHA mark of 60 when everything falls right. The step up in trip here could even eke out a bit more improvement, so he looks a solid bet if ready to go on his return to action.

15:45 – Twelfth Knight
TWELFTH KNIGHT stepped up on his debut form (gelded in the interim) with a good second at Thirsk last month, sticking to his task well in first-time cheekpieces to be beaten just three quarters of a length. That form puts him right in the mix here and it’s not out of the question that he may yet have more to offer after just two starts. This is not a strong maiden and Twelfth Knight won’t have many better chances than this to get off the mark.

16:17 – Epic Express
EPIC EXPRESS was well on top at the finish when resuming winning ways over this course and distance three weeks ago, finding plenty under pressure to get the verdict by a length. He is clearly very effective under these conditions and a 5 lb rise in the weights is unlikely to prove beyond him somewhere down the line. Today could well be the day in a race where very few can be ruled out with total confidence.
16:52 – Spanish Mane
SPANISH MANE shaped as if the run would bring her on when sixth on her return to action at this course three weeks ago, fading inside the final furlong after racing freely for a long way. The handicapper has given her a chance since and she is now on the same mark as when registering her latest success at Leicester in September. This looks a good opportunity for her to add to her tally if the reappearance has blown the cobwebs away.
17:22 – Aletoile
ALETOILE could be the way to go in a wide-open finale. Still a maiden after 12 career starts, she produced a series of good efforts in defeat last season, including when beaten less than three lengths into third over this course and distance in September. She is now 1 lb lower in the weights than she was then and it’s surely just a matter of time before she opens her account for Chris Dwyer, who has his team in good nick ahead of this filly’s return to action.
