13:30 – Chookie Dunedin

CHOOKIE DUNEDIN and Ryan Sexton are building a good rapport with each other, winning a couple of handicaps on the all-weather and carrying on the good form back on turf of late. He wasn’t seen to best effect at Ayr last time, never able to land a blow from a poor position, and he can prove himself still in top form. Recent winner Langholm can pose the biggest threat.

14:00 – Fragrance

FRAGRANCE has shown a good level of ability hitting the frame in stronger races than this at Newmarket and Ascot and she can deservedly open her account now. She was clued up for her debut and didn’t progress as expected last time, but that form still sets a lofty standard in this event, and she can put that experience to good use. Havana Angel and Candy Rain have quite a bit to find with the selection, but are definitely open to improvement.

14:30 – Golden Gal

GOLDEN GAL‘s penalty for winning at Wolverhampton on Friday is offset by a very capable apprentice, and assuming she’s just as effective on turf, the follow up may well be on the cards. She looks an improved model this season and should have too much for Isle of Dreams, who also tasted success last time and she’s unexposed, while Blackcurrent is also dangerous from his lower mark on turf.

15:00 – Haven Lady

Lots of these arrive with question marks against them, so this looks a good opportunity for HAVEN LADY to open her account with the form of her recent Wolverhampton fourth working out well. The return to turf shouldn’t pose a problem and she remains unexposed at this trip. Top-weight Oakmont appeals as the one to chase home John Quinn’s filly despite his lack of a recent run, with Minute Waltz not discounted either on her turf debut.

15:30 – Redrosezorro

Course form often counts for plenty round here and REDROSEZORRO can boast a very good record at the track. A six-time course winner, he returned to form when a good second over course and distance last time, leaving the impression he turn may be near once again, and he is now fancied to take advantage of a much-reduced mark. The Armed Man is a danger and Stronsay merits consideration, also.

16:00 – Ghadbbaan

It’s hard to blame the testing conditions for GHADBBAAN‘s low-key effort at Pontefract, given that he has performed well on heavy ground in the past, but it may simply have been a case of a ‘bad day at the office’ and he will have every chance if returning to the level of form that he showed when making a winning reappearance at Doncaster. Tiger Spirit is taken to confirm recent Redcar placings with Yasmin FromYork and Zuckerburg and emerge as the main danger.

16:30 – Mahanakhon

MAHANAKHON is bred more for stamina than speed, and will likely come into his own once tackling middle distances, but he has shown more than enough to suggest he is up to winning a race of this nature. He built on his debut effort when a good second to a potentially useful type at Hamilton last time and just a reproduction of that run will make him hard to beat unless the betting speaks strongly in the favour of newcomers Sir Robin and Diamond Ranger.
