WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

13:45 – Fresh Hope

The best form belongs to FRESH HOPE, who was runner-up at Nottingham when last seen in September. World Without Love could be a big danger, however, as this close relation to Subjectivist and Sir Ron Priestley can improve for today’s step up in trip.

14:20 – Lady Lou

The step up to 1m could prompt further improvement from LADY LOU, who has been in good form over 7f on AW, and she’s preferred to the unexposed handicap debutant Cubanista. Rose’s Girl is another handicap newcomer to consider, while Eklil, Aryaah and Do I Dream all arrive on the back of good runs.

14:55 – Montassib

William Haggas won this last year with one returning from an absence and, although MONTASSIB is returning from an even longer layoff, he won his sole start in September 2020 and gets the nod. The ex-French Eeetee could be the danger on his first outing for David O’Meara, while Master Of Combat showed promise last year.

15:30 – Big Narstie

Having reappeared with a close sixth of 18 at Doncaster last month, the lightly raced BIG NARSTIE is taken to build on that encouraging performance and return to winning ways today. Fiftyshadesofred won on his stable debut at Newcastle last month and may be the chief danger, while Dulla Bhatti and Gainsbourg could be set for good campaigns.

16:05 – Soul Seeker (NAP)

Having got back on track with a close second on his recent reappearance at Beverley, SOUL SEEKER (nap) can add to the four wins he posted last season. Wentworth Falls is effective over this in-between trip and he’s second choice, although Rolfe Rembrandt, Dream Composer and Lazyitis are other possible threats.

16:40 – Singe Anglais

The return to better ground could be a plus for SINGE ANGLAIS and he earns the vote ahead of Harrogate, who was a good second at Southwell last time out. Burj Malinka endured a wide trip at Pontefract last time and could pose more of a threat today.

17:10 – Refuge

Market support for REFUGE would be interesting, as he had plenty of 5f turf form last season before underperforming later on. One of those good runs was first time out and he has been eased a little in the weights. Cases can be made for most of the field but second best may be Cool Spirit, who has turf and more recent AW recommendations, ahead of Morty who might prove a great deal more competitive again on this second run of the campaign. The latter’s reappearance was in the Pontefract race won by King Of Tonga, who again looks a player.

17:45 – Satanic Moon

A close eye on the market moves is recommended given the presence of several handicap newcomers in particular. However, on current evidence the best options appear to be SATANIC MOON, Moonlit Warrior and Mostly Cloudy. The last named caught the eye over 1m2f on turf last week but, with less to prove regarding stamina, preference is for the two who finished first and second over 1m5f in a handicap on the Chelmsford AW. Both found their feet in good style in the closing stages and, with Satanic Moon building quite a head of steam with his effort, the placings may be reversed.
