13:30 – Mongol Emperor
The way MONGOL EMPEROR rallied at Doncaster last month when going down by a neck to Universal Folly suggests he is well worth a try at this sort of trip and he could be the answer to a competitive handicap for the field size. Bold Plan is back in excellent order and still retains handicap scope, with Whatsupwithyou also of interest given the form of his latest second has been boosted recently.
14:05 – Stolen Silver
STOLEN SILVER was far from disgraced when fourth behind Coole Cody in the Plate over this course and distance at the Festival last month and there’s a good chance he can get the better of the gallant winner this time now 8 lb better off. That could well be enough to win this competitive Grade 2 handicap with Coole Cody a chief contender once again. It’s probably best to forgive Simply The Betts’ run in the Cotswold Chase and he is another serious player back from a break.

14:40 – Call Of The Wild
CALL OF THE WILD created an excellent impression when defying a penalty at Doncaster after three months off, so he’s hard to get away from with further improvement likely over this longer trip. Pull Again Green impressed when doubling his hurdles tally at Newbury recently and looks the main threat, ahead of Royaume Uni.

15:15 – Champagnesuperover
CHAMPAGNESUPEROVER ran poorly in his sole previous handicap but his mark is fair based on the pick of his novice form and he’s well worth another chance after easily dispensing with his sole rival at Catterick last time. Mint Condition has the headgear retained after a creditable fifth in first-time cheekpieces in the Kim Muir at the Festival and can give Olly Murphy’s charge most to do.
15:50 – Undersupervision
Several in with chances but the return to patient tactics seemed to suit UNDERSUPERVISION when landing the Grimthorpe Chase at Doncaster last month. He’s been hit with a 4 lb rise, but that may not be enough to prevent Nigel Twiston-Davies’ charge from following up. Mister Malarky was runner-up to the selection last time and he’s taken to fill that same spot here, ahead of Chambard, who is sure to be popular having added a Cheltenham Festival success to his CV last time.
16:25 – Last Royal
Honeysuckle’s brother LAST ROYAL got off the mark in effortless fashion in a Wincanton novice last month and he appears to have been handed a potentially lenient opening mark. As such, he gets the nod over the in-form Risk And Roll, with Jesuitique also considered returning from a two-month break.
17:00 – Rock Legend
ROCK LEGEND didn’t need to match his previous best when landing cramped odds on his return at Newcastle last month yet he’s just the type to step forward now handicapping from what rates an appealing opening mark. He earns the vote to come out on top. Pasvolsky, for the very much in-form Chris Gordon team, is feared back over hurdles, as is Lord of Cheshire who arrives in search of the hat-trick.
