It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

12:55 Wincanton – Bonza Boy (Morning Star, Farrington)
BONZA BOY tailed off in a bumper on debut but he showed some ability when 20l fourth of 15 in maiden hurdle at Exeter three weeks ago. He comes from a family with which Jeremy Scott has done well and should progress with racing.
13:50 Sandown – Gunsight Ridge ( The Guardian)
GUNSIGHT RIDGE is a point winner who got better with each run over hurdles and has made a promising start over fences, unfortunate to encounter the exciting L’Homme Presse at Exeter five weeks ago. He shaped well on his only outing on heavy ground. Today’s drop back in trip is a slight concern but he’s open to further progress and is an obvious contender.

15:00 Sandown – Aso (Steve Mullington)
ASO was formerly a smart 2m4f chaser and he finished second in the 2019 Ryanair. Highly respected on that back class and he was back in better form when second in veterans’ event at Haydock last month.
18:45 Kempton – Edraak (Daily Telegraph, Marlborough)
EDRAAK had a fine time of things in 2021 and he took his form to a new level when powering clear in a good 7f handicap here last month. It is quite possible he can maintain his progress this year and is one to take very seriously.
