Ffos Las 12:40 – Mayhem Mya
A dual bumper winner, MAYHEM MYA shaped well pitched into a listed event on her hurdling debut at Haydock 18 days ago, typically taking a strong hold, but she seems sure to have learnt plenty for that initial experience, so she looks the way to go with her sights very much lowered here. Phillapa Sue, a good second to a useful prospect at Lingfield four weeks ago, should have more to offer and is feared most, ahead of Good Look Charm.

Ffos Las 13:10 – TEMPLIER
Templier had fallen a long way in the weights and belatedly put it all together to take advantage of a reduced mark and end a losing run at Warwick on New Year’s Eve. It was an emphatic win, too, seeming well suited by a strong pace and testing conditions, and he should once again have conditions in his favour here. He looks well-in turned out under a 7 lb penalty and will prove hard to beat if in the same form. Fellow last-time-out scorer Kingston King rates the chief threat.
Ffos Las 13:45 – WICKED WEST
Wicked West won his first two starts for Dr Richard Newland and left his previous efforts in handicaps well behind when third in heavy ground at Lingfield last month. This looks a weaker race and he should be competitive once more if building on that from a 1lb lower mark. The Evan Williams-trained pair of Sabbathical and Howdyalikemenow look the main dangers and can chase the selection home.

Ffos Las 14:20 – GUSTAVIAN
Gustavian is a three-time winner over hurdles (all in heavy ground) and he is well worth another chance over fences. He shaped well when third in a decent event on his debut in this sphere, but didn’t get past the first fence at Exeter on New Year’s Day, unseating his rider following a blunder. He jumped well in the main on his debut and is capable of much better. Nicky Henderson’s Emir Sacree has run two sound races this season and should also have a say.
Ffos Las 14:55 – GETAWEAPON
Getaweapon made a winning start over hurdles last season and got back on track in a first-time tongue tie when runner-up at Exeter on Saturday. She was no match for the winner, but very much shaped like a stayer, so the extra distance she faces today will be right up her street, and she is capable of winning races from this mark in what is a much weaker race. Fashion’s Model may improve now starting out in handicaps from a low base and is second choice.
Ffos Las 15:25 – FAIRLAWN FLYER
Peter Bowen’s six-year-old made a winning debut over fences in good style over course and distance in November, relishing the emphasis on stamina stepped back up in trip, and he should have even more to offer in this sphere now. Conditions will once again be in Fairlawn Flyer’s favour and he is fancied to defy a 7 lb higher mark. Alkopop should have more to offer over fences, too, assuming he’s none the worse for his late Wetherby tumble, and is feared most.

Ffos Las 16:00 – HUNTER LEGEND
Venetia Williams’ runner shaped well at Exeter first time out and the stamina-sapping conditions that this track provides should play to his strengths, so Hunter Legend holds excellent claims of opening his account at the second attempt. Jean Bart makes appeal on paper, so he’s considered a danger on debut, while Bamford Edge is expected to show a bit more with the benefit of experience.
