12:40 – Bahia Star
Not many arrive in form, the obvious exception being Rainbow Mirage, who should go well again upped just 2lb. Four others are returning from a break, including He’s A Latchico, for whom support would be eyecatching, but fresh may well be the time to catch BAHIA STAR, who went in on her comeback last season and whose siblings Beshaayir (two wins) and Khalaas (sole win) also had a good record first time up. Weloof is another well worth monitoring in the market.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
13:10 – Al Marmar
Top of the list is AL MARMAR, who travelled well for a long way before going close behind an odds-on rival over C&D in November and sets a good standard on that promising debut effort. Recent Kempton runner-up Ummsuquaim is respected on her step up in trip, but the main threat could come from the William Haggas-trained newcomer Addingham who looks the part on paper. Another debutant to keep a close eye on is Richard Hannon’s well-bred colt Mekbat.
13:40 – Pink Crystal
With the standard-setting PINK CRYSTAL receiving a sex allowance from Jastar, who would have been 12lb better off were this a handicap, this should be her day. Hot Legs Lil could be the one to chase her home.
14:10 – Antiphon
Richard Hannon’s unexposed filly American Kestrel had a tough assignment last time and could resume her progress now switched to a handicap after a short break. Angle Land went close Southwell 18 days ago and is respected on her step up in trip, while Resilience is another key player after his clear second on Tapeta last time. However, the vote goes to Andrew Balding’s well-bred colt ANTIPHON, who made all in a Chelmsford novice last month and looks on a fair mark for his handicap debut.

14:40 – Summereyes
The most striking contender is SUMMEREYES (nap), who was an eyecatching third on her handicap debut at Southwell last month and is open to more progress on this step up to 1m2f. The generally consistent Midgetonamission is feared most on her first try at this trip, though there are plenty of unexposed handicap newcomers who need checking in the market, including Cicely who made some late gains over 1m here last time.
15:10 – Kodiac Harbour
Unlucky not to have won more than twice over C&D, KODIAC HARBOUR bounced back to form on his third run back from a break here last time and looks the one to be on. Maysong has been very expensive to follow, while the wide-drawn How Hard Can It Be may ultimately be best served by a stiffer test.

15:40 – Micks Spirit
Preference is for the relatively lightly raced four year old MICK’S SPIRIT, who didn’t get much luck when heavily backed for a C&D handicap last month and is a big player if things go more to plan this time. Second choice is the admirable veteran Shamshon, who won this race last year and finished just ahead of the selection here 16 days ago. Another interesting contender is Strong Power, who is well treated on his old form and was a good second from off the pace at Southwell on Saturday.
