11:50 Fairyhouse – Hubrisko
HUBRISKO is a sharp horse to work at home. He’s by Doctor Dino, the same stallion as Sharjah. He had one run on the Flat in France where he won in August 2020. He wears a tongue tie and Fairyhouse could be quite testing but he definitely works like he’s more than capable of winning the race.

12:00 Tramore – El Fabiolo
EL FABIOLO had two runs in France and was placed in Auteuil in September 2020. He was balloted out of Limerick at Christmas so he gets in here as a five-year-old. I can see why Paul Townend went for El Fabiolo over Tempo Chapter Two, who has had one run over hurdles and was well beaten at Gowran Park in November. El Fabiolo is a nice horse that goes well. It’s a race that Willie Mullins has won a couple of times in the past so he’ll be hoping El Fabiolo can win too.
12:20 Fairyhouse – Allegorie De Vassy
On our calculations, ALLEGORIE DE VASSY‘s mark in France would equate to about 133 with four runs under her belt. The highest-rated of the opposition here is Joeswayornoway at 112 so I’d say she could be well in.

13:10 Tramore – Hors Piste
HORS PISTE ran over hurdles in Pau and was placed on his second start. He’s by Kapgarde, a strong stayer and wears a tongue-tie but always wears it at home. The heavy ground might be a question mark but looking at the opposition you’d be hoping he’d still be good enough.
14:20 Tramore – Al Boum Photo
We’ve had a dry autumn so AL BOUM PHOTO hasn’t run as of yet but who’s to say he won’t get a run between January and March? He looks to be in really good form at home but he’s going to be that kind of price. I wouldn’t put anyone off backing him each-way for the Cheltenham Gold Cup. I’d prefer to back him for the Gold Cup before he runs at Tramore.

14:40 Fairyhouse – Mount Ida
A cracking contest, isn’t it? The trip will suit Put The Kettle On, Elimay never sparked at Aintree so I’d put a line through that because of the travel but I did think MOUNT IDA (nap) bolted up the last at Clonmel. She’s the Kim Muir winner and I think on real testing ground on New Year’s Day at Fairyhouse she might be the strongest stayer here.
15:15 Fairyhouse – Jungle Boogie
The only thing against JUNGLE BOOGIE is the fact that he’s an eight-year-old and he’s had two runs in his life which tells you how fragile he is. He has a massive engine, I just hope the wheels can stay on the bike for more than one run this year. He looked really good last year at Punchestown.
