11:50 – Top And Drop
TOP AND DROP is a likeable type who ran well when last seen and, although that was 10 months ago, her in-form stable has had the majority of its representatives well tuned up for their reappearance this term, so she gets the marginal vote ahead of The Toojumpa, who remains with potential as a chaser if she can cut out the errors. Golden Robin also warrants consideration.

12:25 – Harbour Lake
HARBOUR LAKE looked an above-average prospect when finishing with a flourish to win on his hurdles debut over C&D in October and is fancied to follow up under a penalty with that form proving solid. Lakota Warrior was seen to good effect from the front in a race run at a crawl here last time, but that said, he did score decisively and is open to further improvement.

13:00 – Chinwag
An interesting small-field contest with the vote in favour of CHINWAG. He confirmed his chase debut promise when running out a good winner over this sort of trip at Ffos Las in November and a 4 lb higher mark looks more than workable. Pay The Piper made the most of a good opportunity at Newcastle latest and should be thereabouts, whilst Erne River is an intriguing chase debutant.
13:35 – Monsieur Pom Pom
MONSIEUR POM POM went off at a much bigger price than Kayfast Warrior in the recent Catterick juvenile hurdle won by Inca Prince, but he finished 17 lengths ahead of that rival there and is taken to confirm his superiority. Lifetime Legend and Thunder Ahead are appealing recruits from the Flat and both need a second look in the betting.
14:15 – Fransham
A case can be made for all of these, but FRANSHAM jumped really well when comfortably opening his account over C&D last month and is taken to defy a 3 lb rise in the weights. Cheddleton rates a big threat on the back of his excellent Cheltenham second however, with the likeable Nuts Well not taken lightly either.

14:45 You Some Boy
Cases can be made for several but the most compelling is for YOU SOME BOY. Rebecca Menzies’ charge showed improved form to get off the mark at Newcastle earlier this month and he’s taken to make light of an 8 lb rise with this step up in distance promising to suit. Thundersockssundae is feared having been placed on both recent outings, along with C&D winner Oliver’s Island and Mamoo.

15:20 – Phantom Getaway
PHANTOM GETAWAY was quite an expensive purchase on the back of a point victory and has joined a stable that boasts a solid record with bumper debutants, so he gets the marginal vote in what could prove to be a strong race. Basford is an obvious danger on the back of a successful debut at Carlisle, while Dan Skelton’s representative, Grey Dawning, also makes plenty of appeal on paper.
