CAP DU NORD is potentially on a good mark on the pick of his efforts last season, including when runner-up to the well-handicapped Royale Pagaille (clear of rest) in this race off this mark, and should go well again on the back of a promising run in the Badger Beer. Fortescue and Canelo found the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury too demanding but should make much more of an impact here.

The Skeltons landed this with a novice last year and can do so again via JOHN LOCKE. A useful performer on the Flat, he opened his hurdles account in good style at Huntingdon and makes his handicap debut in this sphere on a potentially lenient mark. Lord Baddesley is well worth a second look back hurdling and is next on the list ahead of Stream of Stars and the veteran of the party, Eddiemaurice.
