It’s a super Saturday with racing all over the UK and Ireland and we’re after one thing… winning horses. Don’t forget the day’s feature is the International Hurdle (15:00) at Cheltenham and the ITV cameras are there as well as Doncaster to capture the action.

So, we’ve asked our superstar pundits of Matt Chapman, Mick Fitzgerald, Frank Hickey and Ruby Walsh to put their top tips today into a Lucky 15. And thankfully, they’ve obliged us!

Okay, let’s get to the bets…

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

13:50 Cheltenham – Fusil Raffles (Mick Fitzgerald)

With the threat of a low sun during the winter months, the featured Racing Post Gold Cup is the first race on ITV on Saturday and those that were involved in the finish of the Paddy Power Gold Cup last month are prominent again. The winner that day Midnight Shadow starts here as well as Lalor, Zanza (who will prefer the ‘New Course’) and Coole Cody – who fell when holding every chance at the second-last fence in the Paddy Power Gold Cup.

Midnight Shadow is a player despite his revised mark as he was second in this race, but Charlie Hall Chase winner FUSIL RAFFLES is being overlooked. He was second in the Marsh Chase at the Festival over this course and represents good value.

14:05 Doncaster – Tommys Oscar (Ruby Walsh)

I fancied TOMMYS OSCAR at Haydock last time out and he impressed there. He drops down to 2m here and that’s more suitable for him. I’ll ride with Tommys Oscar again.

15:00 Cheltenham – Guard Your Dreams (Matt Chapman)

Another Grade 2 in the International Hurdle over 2m 1f. This is not a vintage renewal, so I’ll take a chance on an upset by GUARD YOUR DREAMS for the Twiston-Davies team of jockey Sam and trainer Nigel.

The improving five-year-old was a fair third behind Buzz at Ascot looking as though he would enjoy this slight drop in trip. Prior to that he came home strongly over slightly further than this at this track. He’s something to find on paper, but this is winnable.

15:35 Cheltenham – Martello Sky (Frank Hickey)

Lucy Wadham won this last year with The White Mouse and has every chance of repeating the trick here with Martello Sky. She shaped okay in the Mares Novice when 8th but was staying on strongly, suggesting the trip was too sharp and she came back here in April and won easily over 2m4f.

She bolted up in a handicap at Market Rasen over 2m4f off 132 and the third Earlofthecotswolds has won twice since, including a good Newbury handicap to frank the form. She went 100/30 joint favourite for the Betway Hurdle at Aintree last month but was only fourth behind Bewinupastorm, but to be fair she ran close enough to her rating. The handicapper has dropped her a pound to 140 and now down in grade and back in against mares, she makes strong appeal here.
