Each and every day on the racing calendar we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside track on all the picks you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put our great guide to the work and use it to point you in the direct of what could be a smart Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of the four best performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
13:00 Punchestown – Gentleman Joe (Racing Post: The Punt)
GENTLEMAN JOE was third in a Listed contest at Goodwood back in May where he was behind top-class colts Lone Eagle and Yibir, and that makes him the obvious danger in this field. Given the level he got to for Joseph Tuite on the Flat, he will be an intriguing runner in this big-field juvenile contest now switched to Henry De Bromhead.
16:00 Wolverhampton – New Mission (Daily Telegraph: Marlborough)
NEW MISSION could be the one to beat in this contest after making the switch to the Tapeta. Charlie Appleby’s charge was second at Newmarket late last month and had little chance of beating the winner that day in truth. But, there was a jolt of improvement in that run and that’s why he gets the nod here.
17:00 Wolverhampton – Navello (Morning Star: Farringdon)
NAVELLO looked quite a useful two-year-old during the spring and even picked up a hat-trick of wins over 5 or so furlongs at Brighton, Chester and over course and distance here. He had excuses at York in his latest effort and before that he was second to a winner now rated at 110 at Chester.
18:00 Wolverhampton – Royal Birth (The Sun On Sunday: Sirius)
ROYAL BIRTH is a strong gelding, who is a fairly useful handicapper on turf. Hopefully, he also takes well to the all-weather surface as he showed when winning at Lingfield in January. The Stuart Williams-trained runner wears a tongue tie here and stays to 6 furlongs.
