11:50 – Tommy R

A market check may be informative with regard to the returning Steel Helmet, while Can Can Girl could be given a chance if getting a good pace to aim at. However, this may be fought out by old rivals TOMMY R and Batocchi who were second and third past the post over C&D last month before their positions were reversed by the stewards. The former is taken to come out on top as the cheekpieces may help him keep straighter this time.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

12:20 – Greengage

Although Cuban Hope may have been fortunate to win over C&D last time, he is still a contender from just 3lb higher, but this can go to GREENGAGE (nap). A three-time winner over C&D, the mare looked unlucky not to go close here last time and with a clear run she can get back on the scoresheet. Like the selection, Dreams Unwind has enjoyed a good year and having run well in her only previous AW start she is feared the most.

12:50 – Nicholas T

Although well beaten in his last three starts, the return to this venue can spark NICHOLAS T back into life. His last two visits resulted in him winning this race last year and recording a famous 33-1 success in the Northumberland Plate in June, where he had Alright Sunshine and Stargazer behind. King Of The South was entitled to need last month’s return from a lengthy layoff and his fine course record makes him the main danger.

13:25 – Voodoo Queen

The last three runnings of this fascinating maiden have been won by Moonlight Spirit, English King and Teona. The last-named was trained by Roger Varian, represented this year by VOODOO QUEEN who, like Teona, comes into this following a promising debut. She is bred to be useful and can also make it second-time lucky. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Nova Legend reverse Nottingham form with Clear Day, while market support for Charlie Appleby’s newcomer Oriental World would be significant.

14:00 – Neptune Seas

Not a bad handicap with three of the six runners last-time-out winners including Tarroob, who may still have more to offer after her recent C&D success. However, it may be worth siding with NEPTUNE SEAS who is even less exposed. He has already shown plenty of ability, and although this will be his AW debut both sides of his pedigree strongly suggest he could improve for the new surface.

14:35 – Kind Review

A trappy handicap in which the veteran Secretinthepark can’t be ignored in his current mood, while the 3yos Politics and Night On Earth come into this off the back of encouraging AW debuts. Phoenix Star is another worthy of respect given his record over C&D, but it may be worth chancing KIND REVIEW who won three times over C&D earlier in the year and has dropped 3lb lower than when last successful. Lipsink is another to consider.

15:10 – Honky Tonk Man

The racecourse evidence is very much centred around second-time-out AW winners HONKY TONK MAN and Notions, with slight preference for the former but they should both be capable of further progress. Frantanck and Master Of Colours have eyecatching pedigrees to ensure that the newcomers are not dismissed lightly.

15:40 – Silver Bubble

A maiden contest in all but name, and it’s a weak affair so market confidence behind newcomer Gold Terms should be strongly heeded. As regards the fillies with experience, Tapeta debutante Rabat has the best chance on ratings but SILVER BUBBLE acquitted herself well at this track the last twice and has solid claims in that respect.
