12:33 Hillcrest
HILLCREST, a €190,000 purchase as a three-year-old, shaped with plenty of promise when finishing runner-up on his bumper debut at Doncaster in January and he didn’t need to improve on that form to score at Wetherby.
Hillcrest overcame significant signs of inexperience to win at Wetherby, finding plenty to get up close home, and he is a cracking prospect for hurdling. This step up in trip looks sure to suit and he’s been found a nice opening on his hurdles debut.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
13:08 Remastered
REMASTERED enjoyed an excellent campaign over fences last season, winning three times, including the Grade 2 Reynoldstown Novices’ Chase at Ascot. He reverts to hurdles on a lenient mark based on those exploits and, while he may not be fully revved up on his return, his record when fresh offers encouragement.
13:40 Your Darling
YOUR DARLING jumped brilliantly when making a successful chasing debut at Huntingdon last month, instantly improving on the form he had shown over hurdles. Your Darling, a tall type with the physique to thrive over fences, looked a complete natural as a chaser and has plenty still to offer in this sphere.
14:15 Senior Citizen
SENIOR CITIZEN has run well on both outings over the unique fences on the Grand National course, shaping better than the bare result when seventh in last year’s Grand Sefton and then finishing a creditable third in the Topham.
Senior Citizen found the test too much in last year’s Grand Sefton (which was run on heavy ground), but conditions will be more favourable on Saturday and he arrives in good heart having won at Market Rasen.
14:50 Arvico Bleu
ARVICO BLEU bounced back to form on his first start for Ewan Williams at Carlisle last month, impressing with how fluently he jumped on his way to a smooth four-length success. Arvico Bleu has a 6lbs higher mark to defy, but he scored with plenty in hand at Carlisle and can follow up if in similar heart.
15:20 Summerville Boy
SUMMERVILLE BOY enhanced his excellent record fresh when landing this conditions hurdle 12 months ago. That highlighted his effectiveness over this course and distance, so he looks the one to beat on these terms. Summerville Boy is at least 3lbs clear of his rivals on Timeform’s weight-adjusted ratings based on the form he showed in this last season.
15:55 Legionar
Milton Harris has his string in excellent form at present and he has a good chance with LEGIONAR, who is related to a number of Flat winners and shaped with promise when third on debut at Huntingdon last month. Legionar kept on well in that junior bumper, which was contested over just shy of a mile-and-three-quarters, and he ought to improve for this longer trip.
