The unbeaten SOCIALIST AGENDA is returning from an absence but he showed plenty of promise when winning three bumpers last year and is taken to make a winning hurdle debut. Two-time bumper winner Arthur’s Seat may be the main danger, ahead of Sedgefield maiden hurdle runner-up Minella Plus.
Recent Carlisle winner Armattiekan may not want the heavens to open, but he would have to have a strong chance if the rain stays away. However, DOKTOR GLAZ shouldn’t be bothered either way with regard to the weather and although not seen since April, he does have a good record fresh. He also looks to be on a fair mark.
If the rain stays away both Aurora Thunder and Morraman would have a chance, but it’s hard to get away from COPPER COIN (nap) who seems to have thrived since stepping up to this trip and was impressive at Uttoxeter last time. Pammi shouldn’t mind what the weather does and is running well enough to make an impact.
C&D winner Gaelik Coast is respected after this month’s pleasing seasonal debut at Wetherby but 4m winner DINO BOY proved he’s not just a slogger when going close over 2m4f at Carlisle last week, where the emphasis was very much on speed rather than stamina in the closing stages. He’s not yet fully exposed and the forecast rain here is likely to be in his favour. Marracudja exploited a good opportunity with minimal fuss on his latest outing and is next on the list.

Despite the smallish field this should be truly run with Stainsby Girl and Constancio both usually up there, the former being the one more likely of the pair to benefit if the ground softens. Gemologist often goes well around here and could run well again, but she is now 0-36 so it may be worth taking a chance with SARVI. A previous C&D winner, she handles good ground but her chance will be enhanced if the forecast rain arrives.
Having been raised just 2lb for his successful Wetherby reappearance Return Ticket has to be considered, though softening ground could be a problem. On the other hand, rain won’t be an issue for the returning THEKING OF MAY who has such a fine record fresh and looks nicely handicapped. Gold Des Bois still has potential over fences for his new yard and could well make his presence felt.
Laura Morgan’s excellent strike-rate in bumpers makes Waltons Grove’s claims fairly persuasive, but the verdict goes to EDEN MILL, whose connections introduced a promising type in this sphere at Ayr on Monday. Ginger Mail, a half-brother to Nick Alexander’s five-time winner Elvis Mail, is also respected.
