All-weather debutant Celtic Art wouldn’t be without a chance if taking to the new surface, while Society Red is on his last winning mark, but this looks one for the three-year-olds. Gal Wonder only just lost out last time and would have to go close if handling the new surface, but preference is for PURPLE RIBBON who makes her handicap debut on only her third start. Her pedigree suggests she will enjoy the step up in trip.

A trappy little novice and especially with the very well-related Sea Speedwell an unknown quantity, and for whom any market confidence would put a different complexion on the race entirely. As things stand, ENFRANCHISE is taken to follow up her likeable win at Pontefract with Lightening Company next best.
18:10 Plastic Paddy
Given his consistent record over course and distance Bringitonboris has to enter calculations, while Invincibly, Dreamseller and the unexposed Rich Dream are others to consider. However, despite the rise in grade and a 6lbs penalty PLASTIC PADDY is taken to maintain his 100% record over course and distance, with the step up to 1m having brought about such significant improvement
18:40 Spartan Fighter
There is every chance there is more to come from Next Victory now making her handicap debut in first-time cheekpieces, while Blackheath is more than capable of making an impact at this level. The unexposed Another Dawn is another to consider especially if getting a good pace to aim at, but previous course and distance winner SPARTAN FIGHTER can prove the answer. He remains on a favourable mark and his last two efforts at this track have been commendable
19:10 Dabirstar
Despite her frustrating run of second-place finishes on turf Cover Name is still a player in this company. However, she is far from solid, so a chance is taken with DABIRSTAR who hasn’t been seen since pulling up at Southwell in April. Her narrow defeat by Nelson Gay there late last year is good form and she would have a strong chance if able to repeat it.
