Each and every day on the racing calendar we bring you the punt-packed NAPs table to give you the inside track on all the tips you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that great guide to the test and use it to point you in the direction of what could be a smart Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets). The four you’ll see below are the selections of the top four performing tipsters in the table. Let’s get to the bets…
The Charles Hills-trained PERSUASION is an attractive colt and it quite a useful handicapper as well. He won at Haydock back in April seeing off Dulas by half a length. He was also a creditable length-and-three-quarters third of nine to Aratus at Goodwood last time out. He acts on good to firm and heavy ground, better placed than most and stays at 7 furlongs. William Buick rides, and that is an added bonus.
As a three-time course and distance winner GREENGAGE has to enter calculations. Tristan Davidson’s charge has picked up five wins from 14 outings this year and was a decent of second of eight in handicap at this course and distance 11 days ago.
SUBSTANTIAL was sixth of 13 in a 7-furlong novice on heavy ground at Newmarket on debut last year, but was very much getting to grips with things late on. That form admittedly isn’t the best, but the William Haggas entrant should improve if all is well.
JORDAN ELECTRICS makes his debut on tapeta here and is weighted to go close for Ewan Whillans. The gelding was a dual 6-furlong winner at Ayr and Hamilton back in July, and he returned to form in a fourth placed finish of 15 in handicap at Nottingham 13 days ago.
