14:00 Bloomington Bride
This looks a very good opening for Kevin Ryan’s BLOOMINGTON BRIDE, who has finished third on her last two starts but the pick of her form stands out here. She is taken to get off the mark, with early-season course and distance winner Where’s Diana the obvious one to follow her home unless the betting speaks in the favour of newcomer Lady Ardad.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:35 Boltaway
BOLTAWAY is bred to be smart – out of a Grade 1 winner – and he has taken off since entering handicaps, winning his last three starts. He completed the hat-trick in good style at Yarmouth last time, getting first run on his main market rival but was well on top at the finish. The third has since bolted up, so the form has a solid look to it, and a subsequent 5 lb rise shouldn’t be enough to prevent a four-timer. Arrow of Gold may be a four-year-old, but is actually the least exposed in the line-up, so he’s feared most ahead of Sir Michael Stoute’s Nottingham winner Possible Man.
15:10 Valeria Messalina
Plenty of Irish challengers in this listed event and it could be VALERIA MESSALINA who comes out on top. She appears to be coming to the boil now, producing her best effort of the season when finishing runner-up in a Group 3 at Fairyhouse last month. She has fared well with the draw, should appreciate this trip at this stiff track, and Andrea Atzeni is a positive jockey booking, so a big run is expected. Double Or Bubble is also a leading player on form and is another who shouldn’t be hindered by the shorter distance.
15:45 Duty Of Care
DUTY OF CARE is from a smart Juddmonte family and looked a good prospect when opening his account at Newcastle last year. He is best not judged on his latest start at Chelmsford in April where he was always on the back foot after a slow start and remains with potential. An opening mark of 86 is potentially lenient and he makes a fair bit of appeal on turf debut. Baby Alya was a shade underwhelming at Haydock last time but is another who could get back on the up.
16:20 Teqany
TEQANY developed in to a useful hurdler for his present connections last year and confirmed the promise of his exploits on the level when running out a ready winner over two miles at Chepstow three weeks ago. He’s fancied to make another bold bid from a 3 lb higher mark and gets the nod ahead of Flint Hill and the red-hot Out of Breath.

16:55 Alpha Cru
The market may prove useful with ALPHA CRU and newcomer Madame Glitters both representing the David O’Meara stable. However, the former looked promising when landing a course and distance maiden last month, justifying good market support on his debut for O’Meara, and could be the way to go with further improvement forthcoming. Gaerwen and Maxios Show are others worthy of a second look, too.
17:25 Lady Nectar
LADY NECTAR has essentially been in good form since her victory at Thirsk in the spring, not seen to best effect off a steady gallop and enduring a troubled passage at Redcar last time, but still staying on with intent. She gets the nod equipped with first-time cheekpieces, with Wether Fell and Mutanaaseq next best, though it would be foolish to discount Mr Orange at his favoured track from this lowly mark, also.
