13:25 – Music Magic

This looks a good maiden on paper and one which seems sure to throw up future winners. MUSIC MAGIC makes plenty of appeal on paper for a yard going well with its two-year-olds, a half-brother to several winners, including the smart Mubtasim, and he’s fancied to make a winning start. Bluegrass is bred in the purple so commands plenty of respect for top connections, especially if the market speaks in his favour, while Cowboy Justice looks best of those with experience.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

13:55 – Concert Hall

CONCERT HALL has an excellent pedigree – out of the same connections’ Oaks winner Was – and put her experience to good use when opening her account over course and distance last time, appreciating the longer trip and showing a good attitude in the finish. She should go on progressing, and is narrowly preferred to her stablemate, History, who is another with a superb pedigree and cost a fortune as a yearling.

14:30 – Zumoradda

ZUMORADDA bounced back to her best when finishing third at Galway just under a fortnight ago, closing all the way to the line having conceded first run to the winner. She’s had quite a few chances now, but Dermot Weld’s charge sets the standard on form here and is taken to put it all together now. Micromoon showed plenty to work on when second on debut and she’s feared most with improvement forthcoming, ahead of Rosa Woodsii and Punakha in an open event.

15:05 – Light Refrain

LIGHT REFRAIN returned to top form when landing the Group 3 Summer Stakes in comfortable fashion at York last month, looming up at the two-furlong pole and having plenty in hand at the finish. She should still have a bit more to offer at this sort of level, and is taken to follow up, likely at the main expense of Gustavus Weston and The Highway Rat, who are considered big threats.

15:40 – Notoriously Risky

This looks open but preference is for NOTORIOUSLY RISKY, who has returned an improved model this season, hitting the frame on each occasion and running respectably in handicap company last time. This looks an ideal opportunity for her to finally get her head in front back in a maiden where the bar isn’t set too high. Jon Riggens has improved with each run so he’s feared most now starting out for a new yard.

16:10 – Go Bears Go

GO BEARS GO beat most of these in ready fashion when winning the Railway Stakes over this course and distance six weeks ago and there was plenty to like about that performance. As expected, he benefited for the step up to six furlongs, looking a really likeable and professional two-year-old. There should be even more to come from him and he has obvious claims of following up. Castle Star and Dr Zempf finished second and fourth, respectively, behind the selection that day and warrant respect once more given that both remain capable of better.

16:40 – Turbulence

TURBULENCE had been gelded and left his previous form well behind on his first start for eight months when landing a maiden at Killarney recently and he’s fancied to improve again on just his fourth outing. He travelled fluently on that occasion and had more in hand at the line than the margin suggests, so he gets the nod to follow up now handicapping in an open contest. Eagle’s Flight and Ice Cold In Alex arrive at the top of their game and strike as serious dangers.

17:10 – Ramiro

RAMIRO isn’t the most straightforward, but had a bit more in hand than the narrow margin suggests when winning at Limerick under this rider five weeks ago, not doing a lot once hitting the front, so he could be up to defying a 4 lb rise in the weights. Verhoyen, Linus Larrabee and Geological head the dangers.
