There was plenty to like about the Newbury debut fourth of FIRTH OF CLYDE so he’s preferred to Sandown runner-up Royal Patronage (second choice) and the well-bred Bondi Man.

The way she came away last time suggests this step up to 7f shouldn’t be an issue and she’s selected to make light of an opening mark of 80. The class-dropping Areehaa may give her most to do ahead of the thriving Poet’s Magic.

In a race where few arrive with compelling claims the relatively consistent profile of HOPE PROBE earns him the vote. Maahi Ve can give John Quinn’s representative most to do if this doesn’t come too soon after her reappearance third last week.
20:35 – Mythical Madness
Newton Jack has good claims on his latest 7f Newbury second but this trip is an unknown. Dourado, another who arrives in good nick, is very much at home on this track but his long losing run is a concern so perhaps MYTHICAL MADNESS can defy a small rise and land a third C&D success of the month. Dourado can fill the forecast spot.
