13:50 Patient Dream

PATIENT DREAM has taken his form to another level this season, winning two of his three starts, and proved his effectiveness on ground softer than good at Windsor last time. He travelled smoothly through the race on that occasion and found plenty for pressure when tackled entering in the final furlong, always holding on from the runner-up. A subsequent 3 lb rise is fair and he is expected to prove too strong for the likes of Alfaadhel and Aerion Power, who was extremely unlucky not to win at Doncaster last time.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

14:25 Asymmetric

ASYMMETRIC cost 150,000 guineas at the breeze-ups earlier this year and duly made a winning debut over course and distance last month before following up under a penalty at Newmarket two weeks later. He took another significant step forward when finishing a narrow second in the July Stakes last time, looking to come with a winning run but just failing. That form sets the standard here and he seems sure to launch another bold bid. The step up in trip should suit Norfolk-winner Perfect Power so he’s feared most.

15:00 Third Realm

THIRD REALM seemingly beat subsequent Derby and King George winner Adayar on merit in the Lingfield Derby Trial earlier in the year, and can probably have his run in the Derby since overlooked as he looked ill at ease on the track coming round Tattenham Corner. He has been given plenty of time since and he remains a potentially high-class three-year-old, so is well worth another chance with likely ground conditions in his favour. Wordsworth, who has been placed in Group 1s the last twice, looks the obvious danger.

15:35 Audarya

AUDARYA signed off a great 2020 with victory in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Keeneland and returned to action with an excellent second to Love in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. There were talks beforehand that she would come on greatly for the run, so she very much looks the one to beat now back against her own sex. Joan of Arc looked all stamina when winning the Prix de Diane and is the danger with more improvement to come.

16:10 Adjuvant

ADJUVANT overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Chester last month and showed much improved form to follow up at Salisbury 18 days ago. He still showed hints of greenness, but he was decisively on top at the finish and is almost certainly open to further improvement. An opening mark of 85 seems fair enough while the booking of Ryan Moore catches the eye. A number of fellow last-time-out winners rank as dangers, with Mayfair Stroll and Highland Premiere the most notable.

Goodwood

16:45 Wilderness Girl

The betting should reveal plenty in this juvenile fillies’ maiden but Andrew Balding’s WILDERNESS GIRL shaped well on her debut when fourth at Newmarket 19 days ago so gets the nod with a fair bit of improvement in the pipeline. Kingdom Girl also made a promising start when coming home a place behind her so is next on the list with Mark Johnston’s duo, Brazilian Beach and Vintage Fashion, much respected too.

17:20 Fantasy Master

FANTASY MASTER posted a career-best effort when an unlucky third in a Royal Ascot handicap last month and, though he was below par over further at Sandown last time, he remains fairly treated and better expected here. He should relish likely conditions and can prove too strong for Showalong and Twilight Calls, who also make the shortlist.
