It’s not a strong standard set by those that have had a run and the speedily bred newcomer I AM JOKING might be worth taking a chance on for a yard that do well with both sprinters and juveniles. HMS Endeavour and Recurrent Dream are two more newcomers to check in the market. Gwan So gave the impression that he would improve from his debut ten days ago.
PARKERS HILL has a lot in his favour. He is trained by a dab hand with sprinters, is well-handicapped on his old form and comes into this off the back of a good third on his first start over the minimum trip. He could be hard to beat. Silverkode is even better-handicapped on his old form and is also interesting.
Dickiedooda sets a solid standard on form but with all her best efforts coming over the minimum trip, a chance is taken on RUSSIAN RIVER. Joseph O’Brien’s filly travelled well in a Listed event at the Curragh last time before paying the price for sitting too close to a fast pace and she might be worth giving another chance to with three solid runs at Listed level to her name this term. Teresa Mendoza is another who could go well if she bounces back from a below par run in France ten days ago.
A competitive Listed event. LADIES CHURCH took a sizeable step forward from her debut when getting the better of Orinoco River at Tipperary three weeks ago and she’s taken to confirm that form with similar conditions in her favour again here. Pennine Hills could be the main danger after an impressive all-the-way win on debut at Fairyhouse.
It’s hard to rule out any of these, notably the unexposed Ballydoyle runner, Preamble, and the course winner Harpocrates who disappointed in his hat-trick bid last time. However, MONAASIB is the one they have to beat if he’s on his A-game and while he’s been below his best on his last two runs, he showed he retained plenty of ability when third in a Guineas trial on his return in April.

RAFFAELLO is quite interesting back down to a realistic mark and fitted with first-time blinkers. Miss Jabeam ran a nice race when tackling this trip for the first time at Killarney and is a huge danger.
He may have a career-high mark to overcome but ECLIPTIC MOON won well at Dundalk from Caesar’s Comet and should have more to offer. Miss Florentine is a mare in form and is also respected.
Johnny Murtagh’s yard are in fine form and the progressive KOSMAN (nap) appeals most having posted career best efforts on his last two runs. Dream Tale and Morph Speed are two more that are on an upward curve while Settle For Bay can’t be ruled out from his last winning mark.
