14:30 Prettiest
Elliptic beat the Queen Mary Stakes winner Quick Suzy first time up at Tipperary in April and should run well at a big price. But PRETTIEST is out of Alice Springs, who was a very good filly for these connections. I am siding with her for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. Cachet is a real unknown quantity in the field, while Oscula has come forward after winning the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom earlier in the month.
15:05 Alenquer
ALENQUER rolled around a little at Sandown in April, but beat a Derby winner in the process. He was not stopping in the Classic Trial and this step up in trip should not be a problem. The Mediterranean will improve from his Leopardstown run earlier in the month. But, you are guessing about the ground for him, as we are not sure how much rain will hit. I am happy to stay with Alenquer as he is proven on the ground.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
15:40 Supremacy
SUPREMACY was really laboured when running at Ascot in April. But, if you look at his form from last season, it was so impressive you have to think that this horse will be better than that showing. It’s also interesting that Adam Kirby is sticking with him instead of switching to Diligent Harry. He has blinkers on for the first time, and that might just concentrate his ideas and help him to get it done, as there will be no hiding place here.
A Case Of You is another horse I like. He was upped in trip, but trainer Adrian McGuinness realised it was best to go back to sprinting. His old trainer John McConnell had earmarked this race when he won at the Curragh last year.

16:20 Primo Bacio
PRIMO BACIO looked like she had come on a lot from her April run in the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury. She finished fourth behind Alcohol Free, but flew home that day and confirmed her wellbeing with a very easy success at York last month.
Snow Lantern was behind Ed Walker’s filly that day, but saw too much daylight to catch her. Ridden cold here though, she could emulate her dam Sky Lantern who won this too. Mother Earth is favourite at the time of writing and she ran a hell of a race in the French Guineas to finish second last month, having won the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier in May. She is very versatile ground wise and sets a good standard here, but I just feel that Primo Bacio is a really good value bet.
17:00 Pomelo (Each-Way)
Friendly should be one of the frontrunners for this and she trying to break her maiden, but this is a tough race to do it in off her current mark. The horse I like in this is POMELO for Ralph Beckett. She was very highly thought of previously, as she was favourite in the Prestige Stakes won by Isabella Giles at Goodwood last August.
She bounced back to form at Wolverhampton and could have improved over the winter physically. The other one to watch is in the same ownership and that’s Lucid Dreamer. This filly was keen at Newbury in the Fred Darling Stakes and ran with the choke out a little. With that run under her belt, she has to be of interest in this contest.
17:35 Zabeel Champion
This one, as you would expect, is a very competitive handicap. I really fancy ZABEEL CHAMPION. He is trained by Mark Johnston and this is a race that he likes to win. The colt just looks like he’s got a bit up his sleeve, and they haven’t quite got to the bottom of him yet. He’ll do at a decent each-way price for me.
18:10 Warrior Brave
WARRIOR BRAVE won the Gusbourne Handicap at Goodwood in late April and was a good second at Sandown after that earlier this month. If the rain does come, Michael Appleby’s gelding shouldn’t mind it being by Twilight Son. I’m going with him to close the show in the lucky last.
