14:00 Patient Dream
Plenty of these have untapped potential and can obviously improve from where they sit in the handicap at the moment. However, one or two are coming from stables that are slightly out of form yet Patient Dream’s yard could not be any hotter.
He managed to win last time over slightly shorter and was a little bit gassy and keen throughout the contest, but hit a flat spot rounding into the home straight. That suggests that this is ideal going up in distance. Oisin Murphy is booked to ride.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
14:35 Posted
Posted always seems to be slightly underestimated in the market but there is no getting away from the fact that they have found an ideal opportunity from a ratings perspective in Group company again. She has become a little tricky and Jim Crowley needs to be careful in the preliminaries. Once that is out of the way she is pretty straightforward but was far too keen on her return at HQ behind Lady Bowthorpe. That form looks rock solid though and she’s the joint top-rated in this race.
15:10 Duke of Hazzard
Frankie Dettori gets the leg up for the first time on this tricky individual who should get his ideal set up as it’s a race loaded with pace. Duke of Hazzard’s return effort wasn’t too bad without the usual help of headgear, but all of the gadgets go back on for Saturday’s assignment. Century Dream won this last year but needs the heavens to open for the ground to come up soft to be at his best. The selection is fully effective under quicker conditions and can be produced fast and late down the outside, on what could be a spectacular day for Dettori.
15:45 Mondammej
Mondammej let us down last time at York after a very slow start. He can forget about winning this contest if he does that again. Most of the runners are close to their ceiling rating, whereas the selection has not reached his full sprinting potential. He is drawn in stall 18 and there’s a lot of pace around him. Expect him to be played very fast and late down the stand-side rail over the fastest 5 furlongs in the country.
16:30 One Ruler (each-way)
One Ruler just ran a little bit gassy on his return in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket, but was still only beaten five lengths on his return to action at the top level. He is an unknown quantity as far as the trip is concerned but the fact he managed to stay a mile on heavy ground as a juvenile would give us hope of him lasting out the trip. The favourite, Bolshoi Ballet, is an easy pick and he may well go and scoot in as he has no stamina concerns whatsoever, unlike a few others. Paddy is offering a ridiculous price for One Ruler each way as we still don’t truly know how good he may be.

17:15 Wait For The Lord
Wait For The Lord has had a strange start to her career, starting off in the jumping sphere but improving massively since being switched to the Flat. Her run last time against some triple-digit rated runners in a Group 3 was a big effort and she remains on the same mark switching back into handicap company. Her only problem is that she doesn’t have particularly good breaks and so gives her jockey a very hard time in the early stages. If she decides to settle better, she is very well treated from a handicapping point of view, at the moment.
17:50 Indian Sounds
Indian Sounds was a big improver for the Paul Midgley yard since returning to sprint distances last season as a four-year-old. His two runs so far this season have been perfect to blow away the cobwebs and they have been in very good company. Now perched on a low rating with a featherweight on his back, he looks ready to produce the goods.
We have not been handed a kind stall position in 14, but his tactical speed early should enable his rider to get a good position. He’s going to fly under the radar in the market.
