15:15 Newmarket – Cosmic Princess (Niall O’Reilly)
COSMIC PRINCESS was a huge eye-catcher on debut at Kempton last season and she backed that up on belated return at Newmarket two weeks ago, when collaring the 87-rated La Dragontea on the line close home.
On a strict line through La Dragontea she’d look to have a bit to find with the favourite Katara here.
Although, she was value for much more than the winning distance the last day and she looks sure to improve again with that run under her belt.
16:10 Goodwood – Society Lion (Adam Killeen)
The form of SOCIETY LION’s latest second at Doncaster has been well advertised. He made a huge move to hit the front in the final furlong, but was run down late by another well handicapped rival.
There was enough promise in that run to believe that he will prove better than a mark of 91 and hopefully, he will show that by getting his head in front today.
16:15 Galway – Innervisions (Lorcan O’Rourke)
This very well bred, lightly raced filly looks to be well handicapped off 74 after a fine comeback run over 9.5 furlongs at Gowran last time out, the form of which is stacking up nicely.
INNERVISIONS was well beaten in decent maidens at the back end of last season, but was thought highly enough to take on the boys in the Group 2 Tyros on just her second start. With the drop down in grade, step back to a mile and Billy Lee back on board, I am hoping for a big run here.
The only slight concern would be the ground, however it didn’t appear to be an issue last time and her full brother Up Helly Aa won a Listed race on soft ground in Cork.
The front of the market looks shaky enough form wise and with Talking Tough hoping to defy an 11lb rise, she looks a nice each-way proposition at a decent price.
17:15 Galway – Melburnian (Allan Byrne)
MELBURNIAN was a very impressive winner of the October Handicap at the end of last season and runs here off 7lb higher.
He was disappointing on his reappearance in the Cork Derby at the start of the month, but trainer Tony Martin may have had this pot in mind and should improve a lot for that run. The soft ground will really suit too.
17:45 Galway – Dark Voyager (Conor Magner)
Well supported earlier in the week DARK VOYAGER was unlucky to meet handicap blot Flying Scotsman.
There looks to be little in the way of progressive horses in this contest and connections will be confident of making amends here.
