HOT MIST is master trainer Christoph Clement’s only runner on the card and this daughter of Tonalist is working very well coming into her debut effort over 7 furlongs. The inside stall at the rail has been a massive advantage over recent weeks and provided she gets away on terms, they may not be able to reel her back in.

21:15 Tampa Bay Downs – Lady Breanna @ 7/2

Admittedly it was a sloppy (heavy) track when LADY BREANNA won impressively but she has had little opportunity recently, as connections have been chopping and changing distances and surfaces. At last they’re reverting to the ‘claim’ repeat angle and it’s a perfect trip, track and conditions for her to get her head in front. They have found a weak race also.

The trainer and jockey are hot right now.

21:47 Tampa Bay Downs – Barrel of Destiny @ 2/1

Nothing in this lineup has the back form of our selection BARREL OF DESTINY, who was previously very competitive in some solid races at Saratoga, Belmont and Aqueduct. She now finds herself dropping down the grades. Although it wasn’t a wide-margin success last time, it was pretty comprehensive. Back in at the same level looks a good move from the trainer.

18:15 Gulfstream Park – Moonstone @ 3/1

My favourite angle to finding a winner in America is pace with a ‘bug’ up – this means a front runner with an apprentice riding!

We have a spoiler on the inside, but provided MOONSTONE can get away sharply from the gates and get to the inside rail, it could be all over after the first 50 yards. We are taking a drop-in class, our trainer is hot and we just need Moonstone to get away on the ‘B’ of ‘bang’.

20:16 Gulfstream Park – Green Light Go @ 11/10

The Roar Stakes $75,000 contest is one of the better contest on the card and GREEN LIGHT GO holds a significant class edge, having already won a Grade 2 and been placed behind the current Kentucky Derby favourite, Tiz The Law in the Champagne Grade 1 Stakes.

He also gets the added help of medication and should easily stamp his authority on this field.

20:49 Gulfstream Park – Almashriq @ 9/2

I’m fascinated to see if Todd Fletcher can improve this son of War Front on its first start for him, as he was a $1.2m purchase at the Keeneland September sales.

ALMASHRIQ won a soft race on the dirt on his Stateside debut but was mightily disappointing last time also on the dirt. He switches back to the turf, drops slightly in trip and after seven starts is nowhere near his ceiling, performance-wise.
