13:45 Greengage

Despite an 8lb higher mark and attempting his longest trip to date on the Flat, George Ridsdale has to be respected given his fine run of form since returning in September. However, preference is for GREENGAGE who is 2lb lower than when winning over C&D in January and her latest effort suggested she was on the way back. Courtside has each-way claims on his run behind George Ridsdale here in October and looks best of the others.

14:15 Fircombe Hall

The key to this race is probably the nursery over C&D 11 days ago in which FIRCOMBE HALL beat Stay Smart by a neck. With the runner-up now 1lb better off there shouldn’t be much between them again, but the former seemed to be improving going into the race so he may be able to confirm the placings now that he has got his head in front. The unexposed Princess Of Lir looks best of the others.

14:45 Quest For Fun

A few of these are entitled to step up from their debuts including Sir Titus and Whittle Le Woods. However, QUEST FOR FUN sets a useful standard on his narrow defeat over C&D last month and should be hard to beat if repeating that form.

15:15 Mondammej

With the drop in trip a question mark against Kumasi and Save The Spirit looking as though he needs a stiffer test, this may lie between Vandad and MONDAMMEJ. The former should run his race, but is exposed now so the vote goes to Antony Brittain’s gelding whose RPR of 88 for his C&D debut success makes him the one to beat despite the penalty.

15:45 Perfect Swiss

On the face of it PERFECT SWISS has a bit to find if he is to reverse last month’s C&D placings with Anif, but he is the less exposed of the pair on the AW and seemed to have improved when successful back here last time. Traveller and Pacino have run well in defeat lately, but with the former looking on a stiff mark now the latter is suggested as best of the rest.

16:20 Defence Treaty

Despite this being a stronger race than the one he took over C&D 11 days ago, Jewel Maker has to go on the shortlist given that he won that race with something in hand, while Kentuckyconnection was also successful here last time. He too has to be considered, but DEFENCE TREATY is given the nod having run well in a better race over C&D last time and the form of his previous start has been boosted since.

16:55 Budanova

Several have possibilities but the one that appeals most is Archie Watson’s BUDANOVA, who has finished placed over C&D in both her handicaps and still has potential after only five starts. Second choice is the well-handicapped Zealous, who was a good third behind an improver who made all in a similar race here four weeks ago. Vertice has each-way claims if she can take another step back in the right direction, while others who could be dangerous are Broctune Red and Blazing Dreams.

17:25 Rockley Point (NAP)

Most of these have plenty to prove but ROCKLEY POINT (nap) chased home a well-handicapped rival in his bid for a double over C&D last month and he’s a major player again off only 1lb higher here. 3yo Raabeh is feared most on his drop back in trip/grade, though Amelia R was a front-running winner here on her penultimate run and could make a bold bid on her return to Tapeta. Another to consider is Atyaaf, who showed signs of a revival behind the selection here 25 days ago and has claims if he can build on that.
