When is the Celebration Chase 2024? Sandown date, start time, runners and betting

We're in for a vintage renewal.

Jonbon on the way to winning the Celebration Chase

The Celebration Chase at Sandown takes pride of place on the calendar as the final Grade 1 of the National Hunt season in Britain.

The minimum-distance contest is a relatively new addition to the schedule as it only dates back to 2001, although the roll of honour is stacked full of talent as previous winners include Sire De Grugy, Sprinter Sacre and Altior.

Jonbon claimed the spoils in last season’s renewal on his first start in open company and attempts to defend the crown, but the Celebration Chase is set to be a key battlefield in the scrap for the British Jump Trainers’ Championship as Willie Mullins fields El Fabiolo.

You can run the rule over our Celebration Chase odds on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise all the key details about next year’s renewal can be found below.

El Fabiolo is the favourite with Paddy Power for the Celebration Chase as the multiple Grade 1 winner bids to bounce back from his first defeat over fences when pulling up in last month’s Champion Chase.

Jonbon is next in our betting after delivering a super performance to land the Grade 1 Melling Chase at Aintree earlier this month.
