Chacun Pour Soi heads Paddy Power’s antepost betting market for the Tingle Creek Chase 2021 after eight horses stood their ground at the five-day confirmation stage.
The nine-year-old has been a winning machine for Willie Mullins in Ireland but tasted defeat on his sole start in the UK when finishing third in last season’s Queen Mother Champion Chase.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
Chacun Pour Soi beat Allaho on his most recent appearance – the Punchestown Festival Champion Chase in April – and his Closutton stablemate also retains his entry for Saturday’s Grade 1 at Sandown, although Mullins has withdrawn Energumene.
The Tingle Creek was supposed to be rising star Shishkin’s first start out of novice company but Nicky Henderson last week ruled out his dual Cheltenham Festival winner.
“He’s fit enough, but I just don’t feel he’s sparking enough and not quite giving us all the right vibes I’d like to see,” Henderson said.
Dan Skelton’s Nube Negra is second in our antepost market after impressively winning the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham’s November Meeting.
Paul Nicholls’ leading hope is last season’s Celebration Chase hero Greaneteen, who was fourth in the Haldon Gold Cup on his seasonal reappearance last month. The Ditcheat handler also has Hitman on the entry list.
Captain Guinness has already scooped a Grade 3 title this term and Henry de Bromhead will be hoping his charge can win 10 years after Sizing Europe claimed the Tingle Creek for his yard.
Defi Du Seuil scored in the 2019 renewal but his career has since gone off the rails while Cheddleton is the outsider. Politologue, last year’s winner, was withdrawn at the latest stage along with First Flow, Paint The Dream and Rouge Vif.
