I’ve gone for MARSHAL DAN for Heather Main and Shane Gray here. Stone Soldier is going to be pretty hard to beat but this one seems a 7f specialist. Gallipoli would be one I would go against as he might need the run, so the odds are attractive enough for Marshal Dan.

14.05, Haydock – Vision Du Puy

I’ve gone for VISION DU PUY because this is one of Harry Skelton’s best chances on the day. He won well in good style the last day, so why not?

14.25, Musselburgh – Tornadic

TORNADIC was a short head away from being unbeaten and three from three. He is improving all the time and the stable is in form.

14.40, Haydock – Defuture Is Bright (Each-Way)

The one I like is DEFUTURE IS BRIGHT. He looked like he really enjoyed the step up to 3m when winning the last time for Christian Williams. Jack Tudor is on board and off bottom weight he will be pretty hard to keep out of the frame so is an each-way bet.

15,00, Musselburgh – Came From The Dark

I’ve gone for CAME FROM THE DARK, as I think the ground should be ideal and Hollie Doyle is a great booking. It’s a wide open race and you’ll need a little bit of luck. This one comes from the back, so will need a split and some luck but should be there or thereabouts.

15.15, Haydock – Small Present

Republican was on my shortlist but in the end I went for SMALL PRESENT. I like the way he was dogged and hard to pass during his last two wins. He’s on a hat-trick and that toughness could see him fend off a lot of these. He is likely to be ridden prominently and Sue Smith is running at 33 per cent at the moment, which is a decent strike rate.

15.35, Musselburgh – Stargazer (Each-Way)

I have picked out STARGAZER right down the bottom here. Mark Johnston has a lot of darts here and this is a speculative tip but the last time this horse ran over 1m6f it won at 50/1. I’m taking a total chance that this exact trip brings out the perfect performance, based on one run.
