14:20 Fairyhouse – Mount Ida
This race looks an intriguing clash between Mount Ida and Elimay who both raced at the Cheltenham Festival last month. The Denise Foster trained mare was a remarkable winner of the Kim Muir and should have the stamina edge over the Willie Mullins grey in this listed contest. Elimay was only beaten a head by stable-mate Colreevy at Prestbury Park but concedes six pounds to Jack Kennedy’s mount.
Both have lovely pieces of form this season with Elimay not beaten far behind Allaho at Thurles, while Mount Ida managed to beat Scarlet And Dove at Cork in early December.
15:10 Cork – Jarvis
It’s perhaps not wise to side against Cadamosto considering the excellent start of the new season by Aidan O’Brien and his Ballydoyle team. However, I’m hoping Jarvis can talk the talk for Ger Lyons on debut and perhaps fly like Iron Man under Colin Keane in this five-furlong maiden. The juvenile is a son of first season sire Profitable who managed to secure his opening winner with Thunder Love at Kempton earlier this week.
The Glenburnie team has secured several winners this week and have an excellent 30% strike-rate with two-year-olds at this venue over the past five seasons.

16:20 Cork – Mighty Blue (NAP)
Princess Zoe had a wonderful autumn campaign for Tony Mullins but might be best watched on her seasonal return in the feature Noblesse Stakes. Mighty Blue has the fitness edge over all her rivals here with Joseph O’Brien’s mare recently finishing third at the Cheltenham Festival last month. She previously beat stable-mate Traisha at Killarney last season and finished third to Dawn Patrol in the Loughbrown Stakes at the Curragh last September.
The five-year-old has a bit to find with Princess Zoe on official ratings having been well beaten by the Mullins mare in the Oyster Stakes at Galway. However, the seven pounds pull at the weights, the race distance and her recent race sharpness should give her the edge to secure victory under Shane Crosse today.
16:40 Fairyhouse – Party Central
The listed mares bumper looks another match on the Fairyhouse card between the Colsutton and Cullentra House stables. Party Central gets the verdict to uphold the form with Brooklynn Glory following their runs behind Grangee at the Dublin Racing Festival in Leopardstown.
The Denise Foster trained mare finished second and just under eight lengths ahead of the Willie Mullins runner in fourth place on that occasion. Shuil Valentine looks interesting for John Kiely, while both four-year-olds, Derrylinda and Limerick Lace are also open to improvement following debut wins.
17:15 Fairyhouse – Letsbeclearaboutit (NB)
Letsbeclearaboutit went straight into my tracker following an impressive debut victory at Tipperary for Gavin Cromwell last October. The son of Flemensfirth followed up when scoring easily at Punchestown before securing two second-place finishes between Sir Gerhard and Kilcruit.
That form is extremely impressive and the best on offer here after those two horses were first and second in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham. Joey Dunne takes off seven pounds to help his cause while Flame Bearer, Balycairn and Harry Alonzo look his biggest dangers.
17:30 Cork – Colour Sergeant
Colour Sergeant was expensive to follow last season for Ger Lyons having finished second on his last five starts. However, the son of Kingman has some excellent juvenile form and gets the verdict with the hope the winter months will bring about improvement into this three-year-old season. His third and second place finishes to Mac Swiney and Thunder Moon are solid form and hopefully the step-up in trip will bring about further improvement to finally break his maiden.
Modus Operandi looks the obvious danger for Aidan O’Brien following his sixth-place finish on debut at Naas last October. The son of Frankel learned plenty on that occasion, while other notable contenders here are Hamidadbad and Mitigated Risk on debut for Dermot Weld.
