This week the PGA Tour heads to North Carolina for the Wyndham Championship, the final regular season event of the PGA Tour. With the FedEx Cup playoffs firmly in sight, it’s a final opportunity for those outside the Top 70 to sneak into the business end of the season.

The 7131 yard, Par 70 at the Sedgefield Country Club has a few notable characteristics, with its tree-lined fairways and small, quick, and undulating greens posing a true challenge this week. Accuracy off the tee will be key along with a good putter to deal with the tricky greens. With that in mind let’s get into our picks for this week.

Sam Burns

Sam Burns is a winner already this season with his victory coming at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. On top of that Burns has five top-10 finishes. Burns is an accurate golfer from tee to green and flourishes on the putting surface with the flat stick. In terms of course form, he had a very respectable finish of T-13th here last year. With the Ryder Cup on the horizon and places up for grabs he’s one to watch this week.

Denny McCarthy (Each Way)

Denny McCarthy has very few flaws in his game. That consistency has been shown in his results this season with six top-ten finishes with three of those coming in his last three regular-season PGA Tour events. He also loves it around Sedgefield averaging a score of 67.33 per round in his last five starts. One of the best putters on Tour, if he can put himself in position he has every chance of coming out on top on Sunday.

Matt Kuchar (Each Way)

Matt Kuchar is one of the most accurate golfers on the PGA Tour. With distance not being an issue this week, he will be able to go toe-to-toe with the field. He has four top-ten finishes already this year and after a respectable showing making the cut at the long 3M Open course, he should go well this week on a shorter track and is a good each-way shout.

Adam Schenk (Each Way)

Adam Schenk has had a very good year on Tour and is locked in to make the FedEx Cup playoffs. Schenk missed the cut at the Open but previous to that he had a T-4th finish at the John Deere and a 7th place finish at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. A birdie machine, Schenk has the ability to go low this week and at such a high price he’s a very good each way bet.
