The world’s leading golfers are set to tackle the third major of the season, the US Open, amid the controversy surrounding the merger of the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.

PGA loyalist Jon Rahm led home the field at the US Masters in April before LIV rebel Brooks Koepka secured the USPGA Championship last month.

Last year’s US Open saw Matt Fitzpatrick claim his first major title and the South Yorkshire native is back to defend his crown.

US Open 2023 dates

The US Open will take place between Thursday, June 15 and Sunday, June 18 on the North Course of Los Angeles Country Club in Los Angeles, California.

A field of 156 players will contest the US Open before the cut after the second round.

Thursday, June 15: Round One starting from 12pm (Ireland and UK time)
Friday, June 16: Round Two starting from 12pm
Saturday, June 17: Round Three starting from 3pm
Sunday, June 18: Round Four starting from 3pm

US Open 2023 prize money

The US Open has traditionally been the most lucrative of the four major championships and last year’s tournament was worth a record $17,500,000, with Fitzpatrick taking home $3,150,000.
