The first golf major of the season is finally here. We’ve got four cracking days of action at Augusta for The Masters 2023.
Can Scottie Scheffler make it back-to-back wins or is the green jacket going elsewhere? Maybe it’s time for Rory McIlroy to shine?
Or will an outsider win it all? We’ve got PPTV’s Justin Kenny on hand to discuss who looks a value pick.
Give us an outsider who could be in the hunt on Sunday?
Abraham Ancer. He’s one of those players who is a loss to the PGA Tour.
He held off Cameron Young recently in a tournament on the Asian Tour so he ticks the box of a recent win heading to Augusta National.
He was in contention in 2021 when a final round of 76 derailed his chances and with his short game stats being so good, I make him a lively outsider.

Who are the most backed players?
In terms of the best backed, it’s the defending champion Scottie Scheffler who has already won twice this year including at the Players Championship.
The fact that he’s won around Augusta is most definitely swaying punters in his direction.
He’s been closely followed by Rory McIlroy as the most popular golfer with punters and between now and next Thursday’s start, McIlroy could very well be the best backed golfer for the first Major of the year as he bids to win the green jacket for the very first time.
