Ras Al Khaimah Championship
Romain Langasque and Jordan Smith will be very popular this week and rightly so. The course is perfect for strong drivers. There’s four par 5’s and there’s a couple drivable par 4’s. If you’ve got a bit of extra power, it’s a big asset.
Smith is one of the top five drivers on tour and Langasque is in the top ten. Smith won here on the Challenge Tour and Langasque was the halfway leader. They’ve got course form. There are a lot of positives and both of them have impressed this season. Of the two, Langasque would be my favourite but I do like Smith considering Paddy Power is paying seven places.
I also like Brandon Stone. He’s a little hard to pin down and he’s a big price. On his best form, he’s one of the best players in this field. However, his consistency isn’t always there. He’s driving the ball brilliantly and he played nicely in Dubai last week. He plays desert golf really well and he’s a class act. He won’t fear anyone here.

AT&T Pebble Beach
Matthew Fitzpatrick is my top bet for this tournament. His price reflects that we haven’t seen him yet this season. Usually I’d tend to side with players who have a round under their belt but his record of playing after Christmas is exceptional. Pebble Beach should really suit him and he was 12th there in the US Open. He prefers a more technical test and that’s why he’s turned up here. A lot is in his favour.
James Hahn is my lively outsider. There has been loads of shock winners of this tournament. He’s from California and he was third in this event in his rookie season and he’s won a massive title in California. He’s made an encouraging start to the season too.
